Here is a rather quick repaint I put together using the provided Paintkit.

This particular repaint represents the Friedkin family's P-38L, which is currently being painted in these same markings. For those who do not know which P-38L this is, it is the former Lone Star Flight Museum's "Putt Putt Maru", now in flying condition once again. The markings temselves were originally applied to P-38H 42-66825.

Should be uploaded in a few minutes...

Thank you Crashaz, Chuck, and Jankees!

I opted to not go for full-resolution with this repaint, as I was even running into memory issues just working with the paintkit at such crazy high resolution. I scaled the main textures and spec maps down by half, and even then they are still at an impressive 2048x2048, and everything is still quite clear.

Here are just a few more shots that I liked. The real aircraft was just painted this past weekend, and evidently has been having the nose art added sometime since then. Hopefully there will be plenty of photos of the final result. The repaint includes some average exhaust stains of typical flying use, as even a newly painted P-38 doesn't stay clean for very long at all.

As a note to all repainters of this aircraft, be sure to add in the oval mirrors on the insides of the nacelles, which the release itself didn't include.

Thank you for doing some green birds!!!! Initially, Colin didnt want any green camo birds in the pack, but I painted at least the blank skin for free. I love the 2 tone birds the best! Any good shark mouth profiles? I wanted to do the green snake running down the engine boom but getting that body all the way down the boom is a REAL pain. Then doing the yellow broken outline? Ugh. Im going to try to bite off something I can chew.
