Checking out a new scenery we came across a rather enchanting little harbor along the coast. I love harbors so i couldn't help landing our plane at the beach near by.

During our walk along the harbor sites we came across an old man who was busy making sketches. Loved his work and he invited us to his home nearby where he showed us a truckload of his finished paintings. Of course i bought quite a few.

He asked if we were hungry and fixed us up with the most delicious pizza we ever had. Later on he also made a rough sketch of our plane as we were preparing to take-off from the beach again. He promised to send it to me when it was finished.

I scanned a few of his 'washed pencil' drawings so i could show them here.

Question : anybody here recognise the scenery ? Can't offer any prices but the winner may copy the drawings and take them home. He/she will also have the deep satisfaction of being the Supreme FS Scenery Connaisseur ! :)

Btw, producers of this scenery are excluded from the contest, but thank you so much nontheless ! :applause::ernae::applause:

Wonderful screenshots, Jan! :applause:

But I have to say that I am even more impressed by the fact that your lovely little plane already made the step from 3dsMax to FSX :jump:

Greetings

Not a clue as to the location, but wonderful work on the screenies.

Victoria+ per chance?

It would fit the details depicted in that scenery quite well, however I've only seen Victoria Intl so far so I can't say if the harbor from these screenies is really there or not.

Thanks, guys ! I shall forward your kudos to my painter friend Giacomo.

@ Chris : you couldn't get any colder, mate...

@ Tim : yep, it's going well, if not for the B-25 and Turkey crossing the taxi way i would've prolly had a first Alpha by now.... :)

@ Bjoern : with Victoria you mean Australia ?..... Sure's got to do with that but it's much more like Up Above than Down Under...

@ Heywood : thanks, mate, but i wouldn't use that adjective just yet.... Hoping for something underneath the FSXmas tree though..

I bet this reply holds enough hints to get you further.

Btw, i changed my mind about the price of this contest : during your exploration take your camera with you. Post a photo of one of Giacomo's paintings and get the upcoming MAAM-SIM native FSX NAF N3N for free.

Have fun harbor hunting ! :running:

Cheers,
Jan

Pizza, gentlemen. Pizza was the clue.

It's Viareggio, Italy, from the OZx Tuscany scenery. :wavey:

Bravissimo Signor Dain Arns, oh Supreme FS Scenery Connaisseur ! Spot on ! :wiggle:

Check this out, folks : http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=23282

You wouldn't want to miss this. Payware quality for nought by the OZx people ! :applause:

Dain, PM me your email address, one MAAM-SIM FSX Naval Aircraft Factory N3N Yellow Peril for you. I'll send you a Beta first too if you like. It'll feature both the land- and seaplane versions. Various engines as well. Hope you have a heart for vintage biplanes. :)

Well done, Dain ! :ernae:

Btw, that could easily be *my* furry friend there in your avatar...

If only ! :) Could do with a detailed scenery of it. I love IJmuiden, live nearby. Maybe you remember Wijsmuller ??...

I worked as a 'dekzwabber' on the Nestor and Simson for about half a year. Wanted to become a 'Stuurman', too tough a job for me though. ( that's when i learned that sometimes you'd better just enjoy the sight of something rather than actually get involved.. :))

It's actually an odd mix of vintage planes prior to WWII, and helicopters these days. Thank you, Sir! That was a very nice thing of you to do. Gratefully looking forward to flying the MAAM N3N-3. PM was sent.

Can't take credit for the pic, Jan. I believe it is from icanhascheezburger.com (http://icanhascheezburger.com/) one of my favorite pet picture sites to go to. They have a dog one as well. That poor cat's facial expression is priceless. I bet it still hasn't forgiven it's owner. :icon_lol:

Got it,Dain, thanks ! Glad to know you like vintage. :)

That poor cat's facial expression is priceless.Sure is ! :)

My little buddy can look like that too if something's not to her liking. (like gently moving her away from her fav place so i can get some work done.. hehe ) She was a straycat now living with me for about two years.

Btw, i just thought i'd try something else to 'promote' a new scenery. Particularly because it's so wonderful and for free and all. Kinda miss the ol' Panther doing that.....

( Hey Ed! Are you done taking photos of the real stuff already !??.. You don't know what you're missing ! :d )

Cheers.
