With your recent Randolph AFB photos, I thought you knew that San Antonio has one also. . .

Take a look at the Petronas towers in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur).

The old GPO tower (now BT Tower) in London, It may not be the highest, the most expensive, or the most modern looking. But, it provided telecoms for all in the UK.

them other towers are just wanna be's compared to the cn tower.
it's the tallest free standing structure in the world, except for some hotel in dubai, built in 2007.

Well cheezyflier, we FINALLY agree on something! Never thought I'd see the day! :bump: Matter fact, I think I'll go buy a lottery ticket or something :icon_lol:

Have you ever been in the CN Tower's revolving restaurant? I believe it's called "The 360". It's very pricey but well worth it just for the view alone. The food is good too of course!

It's been ages since I went up there, but as far as I can remember, the view on a clear day is a-w-e-s-o-m-e!

to be honest the view from the cn tower scare the livin sh** outta me. i am unable to stand on the glass floor in the observation area either. i hate the ride up that elevator. i have done it twice because i don't like fear to be my master. but i don't enjoy it.

I have to jump in here, I do love the view from the CN Tower, especially the view down through the glass floor, it is awsome. We took my daughter there when she was 8 or 10, the wife almost had a heart attack, Sarah and I strolled out on the glass floor and the wife went pure white...lol

The last time I went to Toronto I took a comuter flight into Toronto Island airport, I got lucky and had a window seat, we came in at what seemed like spitting distance to the top of the tower when we landed, what a treat. My coworkers all laughed at me taking a turbo prop from Hfx to Toronto, then they found out it took me 20 minutes to get from the plane to the Hotel (including picking up baggage) and most of them waited 2 + hours and paid $50.00+ for the cab ride in from Pearson. I just smiled and wished them luck on the long ride back to Pearson for the trip home, knowing it was with-in walking distance for me if I felt like the exercise...lol

that was a smart move, imo. they are talking about putting a tunnel under the lake so you don't have to ride the ferry in if you don't want to. at that point, if your bag is small, you could bring a folding bicycle and be in the hotel with no travel costs long before they could from pearson at any cost.
not sure what that turbo is, maybe a dash 8? but it flies over my house all the time.

It was a Dash 8, I have a friend who works for Air Canada reservations and I asked her to find me the least expensive flight from Saint John to Toronto, it was kind of a bet I had with some coworkers. It turned out the commuter from Saint John, to Halifax, then Montreal and finally to Toronto Island was less than half the cost of the direct flight. I know it is a lot of up and down, but I love take off's and landings so it was a bonus, not to mention not only did I win the bet (a 40 oz bottle of Ballantine's 21 years old De-Luxe Blend) but as I mentioned I skipped the baggage claim and taxi/limo hassles to get from Pearson to downtown. A few of our senior managers who travel a lot are doing the same thing when they can, and they all agree, Toronto Island is a much better entry point than Perason if you need to get downtown in a hurry.

Besides it really reminds me of the early days of MSFS and the default flight out of Meigs Field.
