Another blatant plug folks ;)

http://www.fsfiles.org/imagehost/uploads/1253921770.jpg

OZx is proud, nay, delighted to present to you the North Tuscany scenery which of course can be found in Italy, this scenery package consists of one download but with 3 installers in it. One installer for the Elba, Pianosa and Capraia Islands, one installer for the North Tuscany region and one installer to add the HolgerMESH for that same area. This scenery is for FSX SP2 only and was developed by Maurizio G. Antonio C., Dario Bortot and Holger Sandmann released under auspicien of OZx. The North Tuscany Scenery covers the area of Pisa, Viareggio, Torre del Lago and the Versilia coast up till the Liguria region boundary. It also covers the wonderful Apuan Alps area. Nearest airports for this scenery are LIRP and LIRJ. It is photoreal scenery created at a resolution of 1m/pixel, with autogen and enhanced nightlights. Summer and spring seasons. There are beautiful nice lakes and rivers with animated water. Fantastic farms and rural environments, very picturesque cities, industrial areas and Pisa completely implemented, including its airport. Special care was taken for the night textures making diffusion light effects along the entire area, a new concept for making the night flying an event rather than a drag. We hope you enjoy flying in our scenery and please read the manual before installing the scenery.

The price is quite nice as well really

$0USD, $0AUD, $0NZD

(Price may vary with exchange rate of course)

Yes, it is, even though we recommend turning off the nightlighting of UTX due to framerate hit but it is fully compatible. Check Makro Specials (https://www.ladysavings.com/publix-weekly-ad/?makro/) and Pick n Pay Specials (https://www.ladysavings.com/publix-weekly-ad/?pick-n-pay/).

PS Thank you, I wanted to do something different lol :icon29: Glad to see some humour falls well in thes forums :)

Thanks a lot for this one!

Jaekay,
I'm sorry if this sounds overly negative, but why, why, why did OZx have to make it one download containing three installers ? For me, a 900 Mb download would be a six hour marathon at best, and consume practically a whole month's worth of download allowance. While anything by Holger is worth grabbing at almost any price, I doubt very much that I'll bother with this, even though I'd really love to have a new Elba scenery (especially one done to the usual OZx standard).

I'm afraid there is an overall trend towards bigger and bigger downloads which don't necessarily contain much that an individual user wants or needs - packs of 10 or even 15 repaints out of which I might wanr 2 or 3; or updates of a panel or FDE that come with a complete aircraft at 20 or even 50 Mb. I wish that uploaders would realise that, even these days, not everyone has a superfast, extra-high-speed download link. Sorry, but no sale,
regards,
Ro

I don't think one can split such a file into smaller "portions of interest" or something like that. Keep in mind the downloader has a pause-resume feature so you may be able to get it in several sessions.

Great stuff btw, thanks to all involved.

While I can understand your situation, high quality usually comes comes in big packages, especially with scenery these days. The photoreal parts/mesh alone are usually the main culprit. I have an airport I am working in in Oregon, just 1 airport and just the photoreal high res ground is a 145 MB BGL (BEFORE the seasons).

Awesome work JayKae, give my thanks to all involved mate!! :ernae::ernae::ernae:

Mr. Jay Kae,

I just wonder if, by the statement "for FSX SP2 ONLY," you mean it is NOT intended to be installed on FSX Acceleration? :kilroy:

JayKae
September 25th, 2009, 14:11
No, it will work fine with Acceleration but as SP2 is in Acceleration having SP2 was the only prerequisite, in other words you might have issues if you load it into SP1

Guess I'll have to try it, even with the weak dollar. Screenshots look like it might be worth even two or three times what you are asking for it.

(Don't everyone jump on me for telling them to increase the price - I was going to say that I thought it was a typo, and there was supposed to be another 0 at the end - how much worse would that have been?)

Hold your seat JayKae, because it even gets worse! I don't know why, but screenshot from scenery are often taken from outside the aircraft. That's weird because most of the time I see the scenery from inside the cockpit. Therefore I took my small Cub (only mine is green and called Grashopper (Thanks Mike I still enjoy it a lot!)) out of the hangar and went for a tour through a part of this scenery.

Toscany is really the whole world on a stamp. You have everything mountains, flat lands, beaches, islands, cities, etc. In this scenery you will find it all! There is a suprise behind every hill; suddenly there is another village or a vineyard. I don't know why but this scenery really grabbed me!

One thing I learned today; Napoleon must have been a bit insane! (sorry for our French members). When somebody would lock me up on Elba, I would never leave the island, even when they would try to send me away ;) . And definitely not to find my Waterloo somewhere else!

Thanks again to everybody involved!

Although I didn't have a dingy or life-jacket with me, I crossed the sea towards the islands. Especially landing on Marina di Campo from the South is very nice. But I leave that part to discover yourself. Even when this scenery would have been double double the price, it is still worth it!

It's actually a C32b according to the blurb. There are 2 files that need attention 'prop' and 'vetro' and I think I upped the alpha on the fuse. The pit is showing it's age but it's useable. If you decide to buy I'll send you my prop and vetro textures, however remember it is elderly.

Peter, in the "readme" you can find advised settings. Just start with them and when your machine can handle more just move the sliders a bit more to the right.

Hi guys,
i am new in this forum, even if i visited this site often, because i find it very nice! Well, i am the main developer of the scenery and i wish to thank you all, for the appreciation and the nice words about it. I am really happy that you enjoyed it, and this moves me to make even better in the next version.
I thank also Kevin, who takes part of VFR review for the interest about the scenery and also for the Grand Canyon and the Death Valley.
Tuscany is the result about a lot of practice in developing these kind of sceneries, trying to care expecially the night aspect, often a bit neglegted. It's also a research about the autogen, that makes more real a photoreal scenery.
A big big thank also to JayKae, the man who really makes possible all this and to the OZx team, who makes our FSX a bit more exciting :)

I usually don't like photo real sceneries due to the flattened mages thay contain that do not look good from down low. However, the use of autogen in this one and the good resolution makes it very nice. I will happily explore all of the covered area. Thank you Maurizio.:applause:

I must be the only one, but having problems with FSX 'seeing' the scenery. Downloaded and installed per the instructions in the PDF but when going to add scenery, find the OZx_World folder, but nothing is selectable in the Elba or Tuscany folders.

I did manage to get some function by moving all the contents of Tuscany and Elba to another scenry folder, but still don't get anything quite like the screenshoots.
