That really LOOKS like New Orleans. I wonder if the NAS at Belle Chase is there? That would be the clincher for me.

That's a must have for me also. I've flew into the helo pad at the Super Dome many times in an UH-1V. With that detail I bet I can find my old house. LOL

Henry ......
It's said that if you stand on a corner on Bourbon street long enough, everyone you know will pass ...... sooner or later.

Wow! Great replication. Was there at the french quarter (for "work" also, H:ernae:) just before Katrina hit. Looking forward to it.

Looks really nice EXCEPT the resolution in that 2nd shot. WTF is up with those buildings? The textures are all stretched and muddy. Nasty.

I have SanFrancisco X and will not buy any more city.
On my system it`s nearly unflyable, around 4-8FPS, and the scenery ends without any sense anywhere. No ferries in this highly frequented area.
Not all from Aerosoft is a musthave for me,there was a review anywhere about the cities, saying the same, can`t find it again.
I am looking now extremly, what i buy. There are a lot of things on the market, you should pay attention.
Too much is thrown on the market only to make money, not to please you.

I am sorry you are not happy with the product. I did check our support database but could not find anything related to you regarding this product. I am attaching an image that shows me flying over the scenery with around 19 fps. And as you can see from the image I did not go our of my way to get high fps as I show the external of the Catalina. That's about 350.000 polygons loaded (more then the scenery shown in fact). I also made the shot with a 4870 card, one of the worst for FSX possible (working on Rise of Flight art this moment and that sim loves that card). So by picking a simple aircraft, reducing some settings and getting a less expensive graphics card I could have added another 10 fps without any problems I think. So I am sorry that you got fps that low, why don't you visit our support forums and see what we can do to help you? (sorry we do not do support here).

I also like to make 100% clear how this product is positioned. It's something between default scenery and high end addons like Manhattan X. It covers a good area with things we feel are pretty nice for a very low price. If you compare it with Manhattan X (as some obviously do) you are forgetting it costs half and that Manhattan only covers 1/3 the area. Putting products like this on the market is always difficult. If it is not seen in context it is easy to write it off as bad.

And yes, we put this on the market to make money. Aerosoft got around 50 people we got to pay. We don't really hide that fact as we actually ask money for the files, right. There is still some very good freeware around, some of it I love and use daily. If you feel this was not worth 12,51 Euro I am sorry and hope we can sell you something soon you feel is better.

Abbreviation's of swear words are a waste of time to me, as I read yours as 'what the ******'. If you'd rather not post the word, why abbreviate when you know people will read it as you actually intended? I just tried to write it, but of course the forum quite rightly moderated my post, as it's an inappropriate word.

Yes, I've had a stressful day today! :icon29:

I've just deleted the informative part of my reply, as it seems Mathijs beat me to it above. I spent too long whining...I need to go find another beer.

Maybe, but I now have a cold beer and feel much better. :ernae:

It's not sitting well with the chocolate coated nuts and raisins however!

I have both Indy and SF and am happy with both even though both show fuzzy textures, sometimes strecthed. Some buildings have better textures than others, usually the larger buildings are better done both in model and textures. The textures are not going to look great up close, but are more than sufficient at an altitude of 3000 ft or so.

It is beyond me how the designers are able to provide such a detailed product at all, much less for the low price. I look forward to more US cities to collect, though New Orleans may not be one of them.

If the bridge shadows are self created it could be a result that the bridge beams seem to be a part of the model, not created with textures as they usually are. Maybe the beam shadows are only in the texture of the bridge roadway. Anyway it is a nice effect, and rather unique.

Really? Seriously? The 2nd shot textures look bad. Period. I hope they do something about that. Everything else looks nice (as I wrote in my initial post). What is with people getting all upset over a negative comment? Goodness....

I think the smaller buildings use the same aerial source Google uses, hence the stretched textures. It's really only noticeable when you fly as low as I was when I took the pictures. I guess it's as Mathijs said, if you want high detail, with this coverage, it's going to be at the sacrifice of price and performance. It's certainly not going to be everybody's cup of tea.

Thank you for the reply. Your shots are amazing as usual, I was just pointing out the ugliness (sp?) of those smaller houses, not a show stopper for someone looking at buying this sort of thing. The rest of MSY looks very well done. I cannot imagine how they could make all those buildings....that's nuts.

Hi Ryan, as I said in my post, I think there's no need to post in the manor you did unless you don't understand the abbreviation you used? But of course that's just my opinion and I seem to be in the minority these days. And I did state that I'd had a stressful day, mainly dealing with rude people. But, I've had a couple of beers and my blood pressure has dropped considerably.

A few more pictures. I think it was asked about the bridge shadows earlier, they are actually photo textures on the road.

It's not something I've thought about when using it, so without booting it up again to check, I presume very good. Next time I load it up I'll let you know.
