My FSX seems to have a quirk in it now, so that every aircraft lands and it looks like the brakes are locked up and black smoke goes everywhere. No the breaks are not on, but the effect looks like black smoke. I just started to do this about a month ago. How do I fix this, or how do I save my flight logs, so I can uninstall/reinstall FSX and not loose all my flight records?

Sounds like you've overwritten the dirt fx file

[EFFECTS]
wake=fx_wake
water=fx_spray
dirt=fx_tchdrt
concrete=fx_sparks
touchdown=fx_tchdwn_s, 1

If you want the default Fx file (goes in the effects folder), PM me with an e.mail address and I'll send you mine.

I have seen this title for several days now. So, I finally came to see what it said.

:costumes: I thought it meant you had smoked your hard drive. :costumes:

I wondered how could you save the files after torching the drive?

Thanks, I just ended up uninstalling the entire program and reinstalling it. I appreciate the response though! Happy flying.
