I ran across this article the other day

A group of Web Developers is banding together to promote the Death of IE6 because it causes them extra work to write code for that outdated browser. (that may not be worded right. I am not trying to say they are whining.)
I can understand the complaint but with only 15 to 25% of the web users out their still using IE 6 would in not be easier to just to do like they used to with a few of the other browsers. I remember websites having statments on them that "This web page is best viewed in IE 5.5 or 6". If you didn't have 5.5 or 6 the site did not work.
Why not just get their browser version when they log on and throw a pop up window via javascript that states this website does not work in IE 6 Please upgrade to a new browser. We suggest {insert browser type here}.

Anyway I just thought it funny that they would spend so much time and effort when the easiest thing to do is to tell the IE 6 user "Your browser will not work on our site".
BTW for those of you who have always wanted to know about websites and website building...
w3schools has some good tutorials that will help you understand the coding process. Its all free.
