Well crap!!!, that was my favorite site for WW2 colors:crybaby: Not sure what has happened, but I am sure going to miss it.

Anyone recommend some other sites that have WW2 colors?

Edit: Nevermind, I just saw some good links a few threads down in the tips thread:redf:

Seems to work for me. The main page seems to be missing, but all the content seems intact.

HUH?? Yesterday I got a white page saying that he had closed it down due to some things he had gotten into, and was going to do some other things that made him happy. I'm not sure what that meant, but I wish him well.

I now get a page that shows a link to the main directory and the website stats, I can't get any farthur than that.

CWD, would you mind posting a link to his colors page for me please?

Thanks:icon29:

Hmm, interesting. If I try to use the URL to go directly to the color index page, I get the "not found on this server" message again. In fact, I get that message everywhere but the USA colors page. Since that was the only part of the site I'd been to before, I suspect the page was merely reloading from my browser cache. Sorry, didn't mean to raise false hope. :-(

I've managed to save a copy of the USA colors page from by browser cache. Would anyone be interested in getting a copy?

I've written a small e-mail to Arjan, who is the guy behind Skinner's Heaven. As soon as he replied I will let you know why his site is gone and if the information which was on it will remain available....

Hi,

I'm the former host of Skinners Heaven.
Many people offered to host the files. But the problems are not technical.

It seems like some people want to destroy work such as SH.

I plan to come back with a site that contains information similar to SH, but aiming not only at IL-2 or other ww2 sims, but also at other sims.

It will take a couple of months to do this. First I have to deal with the problems of SH before I have the time to start a new site.
But I hope to run the site (with content management system) with a team of people from several simulators so we can help more people then I did with SH.

Don't know why anyone would have a problem with the resource you provided to the flightsimming community. Best of luck to you, I look forward to seeing you back with your new site.

The new site to replace Skinners Heaven is opened for testing.
In the coming weeks we will work to make it grow and to add content to it.
And ofcourse we will make a nice design.
