Hello and thankyou

I wish to say hello,and a VERY big thankyou to everybody,that contributes to this site.What a well of information.
i went from cfs1 to cfs3 major headache ! great sim,then i thought why not a repaint ?used to do it all the time with cfs1....
SO HERE I AM !!!!
been through the maze.read all the threads.got everything i need,daunting though it is i'm gonna do this.
i've loaded everything i needed grabbed the files i want to repaint......
then thought "hang on" "how do i save the original aircraft detail,,,,rivits,vents,exhausts to be overlaid later ? is there a knack,or
template i need for the job.
can anyone help ?

welcome to the SOH spetsnasty.
as long as you save the files in the format of your paint program (.psp from paint shop pro, etc) you should be fine. just saved the finished product through DXTBmp once your done with everything.

If the texture files are saved with the model in compressed format you'll need DXTBmp to get them into a bmp format to read with say, PSP after that follow the above.
