I've been wrestling with spectacle hardstands in AFCAD. I would like to have a parking space attached to the taxiway leading to the hardstand, but somehow Afcad doesn't allow this and the result is a poorly looking partly untextured piece of airfield. :banghead: Is there a smart way to do this?

Not sure if im reading you right but would you mean placing a parking spot half way along a taxiway? how about bridging the gap using an Apron polygon, im having a similer problem at the moment and im solving it this way.

That would mean a custom made apron for every parkingplace?

I guess so, ive only about 15 to make up so its manegable for me but its still a hassle, like you, id be happy to learn a smarter way.

Unfortunately it appears that most of the genius out there for creating the airfield scenery programs doesn't include the mindset that carries over to military aircraft parking from the early war years.

Maybe a petition to a couple of these programers will get them in the mood to create a modification or revision release with an easier way to create WW2 period hardstands.

But to answer your question directly Cees, I don't know of an easier way to do it either.

I'm using one apron to form four hardstands. The taxiways of AFCAD are underneath the apron and have a lesser width. You'll see it in detail when it's out. Can I send you a beta? This one is of Hethel. Rackheat only has spectacle hardstands, so that's one that has to wait. (All these betas!)

Hmm interesting there Cees.

Got the files ... will take time later to install and look over ... might not be early tonight as I have previous arrangements to meet.

It works with AI traffic too! The narrow taxiway don't make a difference! Great! Now I can tranform my older bases to the new technique using Afcad, SceneGenX and ObplacerXML! Let's hope some of it can be used in FSX!
