I've been doing a bit of sight-seeing lately, touring the Maine countryside in Bill Lyons' Luscombe. This is but one of Mr. Lyons gems, complete with some great scenery. Former payware, Bill graciously made all his planes freeware when he retired. Thanks to Bill for the marvelous aircraft that have enriched the world of FS...:ernae:

Still fly it regularly. Love the Tri-Pacer too.

Personally, I am fond of his Travel Air package, although his Goose gets some decent use, too!

Nice atmospheric pics...
Atmospheric is what Lyons products are so good at - there is music I only listen to on the Tri-Pacers "radio" ;)

http://www.flightsim.com/k/cc10tafp.gif http://www.flightsim.com/k/cc10taf.gif FS2004 Travel Air. The first production Travel Air B established such a good reputation in the First National (Ford) Air Tour in 1925 that the company sold 19 the same year. In 1928 the model B was designated the Model 2000. Orders increased until 1930, when Model 2000 production ceased, with 1550 built. One of the classic aircraft of the late 1920s it is not surprising that the Travel Air was a good airplane considering that Walter Beech, Clyde Cessna and Lloyd Stearman were all involved in its design and production. This resource of talent produced an aircraft that was known for reliability, ease of maintenance and a delight to fly. With a range of 425 miles, barnstormers could hop passenger rides in and out of small fields all day. Notice the huge balanced ailerons giving the plane the nickname Old Elephant Ears. By Lynn and Bill Lyons.

It is "Travel Air" NOT "TravelAir";) Run into this problem myself more than once!:monkies:

I still use Bill Lyons' Tiger Moth more than any other single type in my hangar.

Best way to search for anything when you know the developer's/artist's name is to search by that. Otherwise, you'll miss lots of stuff due to misspelling, as here. You'll also find some real jewels that you didn't even know existed when you do it this way.

What modelr said. I've yet to find a Bill Lyons aircraft package that I didn't like. His Sikorsky S43/Golden Hawaii pack is a long time favorite of mine.

Have most of Bill's packages loaded into GW3. Excellent work.

I use Bill's PA-22 Piper probably more than any other planes. All of them work quite well with TrackIR,too.

Golden Hawaii is great, and so are the Leon Louis small airfields for Bill Lyons' aircraft.

Bill and Léon have brought us much to enjoy. The flightsim community would not be the same without their work!

I was just up tooling around in the Luscombe for a bit.
I forgot about this one: Try clicking the com switch on the stick on the ride side (right seat).
I just LMAO!
If you don't know what I mean, go try it out.
What a classic.

If a VC is not a must, the little Luscombe does well in FSX, with a bit of attention to the prop...:ernae:
