Where are you all flying at the moment? Any interesting places you've found for scooting around?

Im still flying my own birds, (TW and K). Glad to finally have a TW to fly, lol..

I just purchased GEX for FSX, so last night I was checking out the scenery. I am impressed. Now the desert looks like desert! Well done GEX!

Also, I purchased GE for FS9 as well as Flight1 Flight Environment. Sunsets and Dawn flights are now spectacular.

Strange that Bill, I'm just loading up your latest at Dillingham. I'd have thought you'd steer clear of the desert though? :d

Speaking of Lionheart's Creations, I took my Kodiak from Telegraph Creek in BC to Klawock (PAKW) by way of Petersburg (PAPG) and Wrangell (PAWG) for a tour of Tongass X. Spectacular glacial scenery near Mussell Peak and Mt. Ratz, and the weather was clear until 40 miles from Klawock, at which point the clouds closed in with a ceiling at 2000 ft. The approach was purely IFR - the GPS approach into Runway 2 at PAKW with a route past 3-4 thousand-foot peaks on Prince of Wales Island. The Kodiak/Garmin1000 combo handled it perfectly, and when I descended below the ceiling, the sun came out through broken cloud for a very pretty landing. Great plane in a great place.

I'm still spending most of my flight time flying around Tongass Fijords and FTX Australia, although I did a nice flight yesterday in the Duke up the BC coast from Victoria, BC to Bella Coola, to Ketchikan, AK.

I just loaded Jim's Corpus Christi NAS and and will try it out today with some Navy and CG planes! :jump:

Installed the MAIW Mirage F1 packages into FSX so I'm flying between the bases and
intercepting a few Mirage along the way. Oh yea, I'm doing this in the Skysim Mirage III.

I mostly fly in four corners of the Earth; Australia (OZx dirtstrips), Caribbean (Caribbean Seaplane Tours), Alaska (Tongass) and Finland (FinlandX, sort of UTX but better and free).

Probably the most exotic locations I've recently been flying are Ice Stations in Nort Pole (Snow Dog Tours North Pole pack).

I seem to be doing a lot of taking off from Whidbey Island, turning left, putting a Carrier 10NM in front of me, landing, launching, landing, launching... back to Whidbey Island and shut down.

You know, I might actually start liking the default Hornet at this rate. :kilroy:

Thanks Nick.

That Tongass Fjords is amazing scenery. I still havent fully explored it yet. Only jumped to the airports and checked out some of the cool fishing villages with the detailed architecture of the small northern houses. Now its time to check out all the nooks and cranny's of the scenery, like that huge glacier.

Also OzX! I need to update to the newest version. They have some brilliant airports in there. I especially like the driving cars in the FS9 version. :d Now that is extreme scenery!

Just landed at Grand Forks ND from 'upstate' of Michigan flying the Lionheart Super Viking last evening. Getting ready to fly from Grand Forks to 8S1 (Polson) Montana in the RA Duke. Looks like an interesting airport nestled in some mountainous area. Never been. I love flying into airports I have never been before.

After that? Not sure, but probably somewhere around Seattly/Victoria on my way to? Tongass!

Not sure how long I will stay, but I hear there is mighty good flying around that Tongass area...then back to Ohio....then maybe, just maybe, it will be time to cross the Atlantic in the A2A B-377 Strat for a Euuropean tour, as I'm not sure the Tailwind could make it across the pond :mixedsmi:

Test flying, test flying, test flying.... hard work, but someone's got to do it! :engel016:

Plum Island or Dillingham in Hawaii for the most part, and then anywhere in Tongass Fjords for longer flights. :)

And as ever, with the door open....

Tongass Fiords , tried my luck with a couple of Birds doing T&G's at PAWG.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Francois gifted me with a copy of that today and i gave him a static Hurricane in thanks for Bill Womack to use in a scenery or two , one for the Lizzy and any other use he cares to put it to , i will turn it into an AI Aircraft as well for upload .
The Lizzy is easy to land at any spot with its stall in the 50 mph range , the P 38 on the other hand is another matter and i ended up in the drink , though i was pleased to hear the birds and waves sound effect that was included with the scenery, unfortunately though i did try to do a screenshot of the Lightning up to its props in the sea i found out FSX won’t do screenshots when your are dead or should be shot.

Sochi (URSS) is a nice place to fly around - even in the sparsity of the FSX default scenery, the mesh has been done well. Take off on runway 2 (preferably in a fast jet - a fast jet with a red star on it), and enjoy the mountains at the other end.
