I was wondering if I am the only geeker with spending too much time on a puter...lol. I don't fly as much as I use to but I still like buying or downloaded freeware planes,scenery..ect..ect. First thing in the morning I turn it on and read the paper, check in here and read other News,,ect. I spend about a hour in a half or so there. When I get home from work....I kick back, turn on the TV and computer and do just about the same thing. If I am going to format one of the hard drives, I start that just before I go to bed and the next morning I start to load the OS and programs...I usually do this on the weekends. I use a Apple Laptop for all my banking and retrieving my paychecks. I do not use the Apple for anything else other than the banking.I figured I spend about 28 to 30 hours a week on the puter at home, not counting the time I spend at work.

The Hysterical Wings mystery quiz keeps me occupied for part of the day, especially when Moses rolls out his East European Horrors.

I do quite a bit of photo processing (PSP) and scanning of old film slides. Also discovered Spotify and have nostalgic old music sessions - a great site.

Online banking, Google-Earthing, a fair bit of e-mailing, but I have promised to really get into recording my guitar stuff before the fingers and brain seize up completely. Got a Boss RC-2 for my last birthday and plan to blow the dust off the Les Paul.

I have some old music interface recording software called Guillemot Maxi Studio Isis - anyone familiar with this ? Should I persevere with it, or is there some really good user-friendly recording stuff available now ?

Like Mike, don't actually do much simming any more - I suspect few of us really do. Maybe when the next lot of the superb Scotflight scenery comes out, I will be inspired to float over God's Country once again.......

My wife's a Computer Widow!:icon_lol: I tend to spend nearly all day " tapping away on my laptop", as my missus describes it :kilroy:. I've my main notebook for browsing the net, emails, internet banking,e-bay :redf:,a little bit of photoshopping, watching the odd blu-ray movie and a little gaming.
My main PC is purely for gaming, photoshop, video editing and file storage. I've 2x PC's set up for htpc connected to big screen lcd tv's.......these also store my ,Legally owned, DVD movie collection and CD music collection...all ripped and compressed to avi and mp3 respectively. I've enough components lying around to build another three reasonably high end computers and a complete Dell Dimension 4550 that will become a classic arcade gaming machine pretty soon.
I've a 12" notebook that is used exclusively for car diagnostics. Apart from that lot there's another 6 notebooks in the house including an old intel p4 alienware area 51m 15.4" system that I've rebuild for my son.

My computer is mostly for flight simulation, but I have a lot of other stuff on it too. I spend entirely too much time on the computer. Oftimes, like this morning, I need to clean the house, but here I sit!!!! My wife spends hours and hours on Facebook. That is, until she managed to infect her computer with viruses from that da...n site.

I did my Masters degree on line. I had to do something to keep me sane after my accident. The body was (still is) fairly useless, but my mind still works (well part time anyway).

I am a moderator on a UK sports website/forum (football as we call it in the UK or soccer in the US) which takes some time and I do some sports reporting for the same site and occasionally write 'live update' commentaries.

I try to 'fly' every day, mostly short flights (low and slow) of 30 to 60 minutes.

Emailing of course and some on line shopping, which is infinitely preferable to going to a mall or town centre, especially when you are in a wheelchair.

Recently though, most of my time spent on a PC has been trying to get the poxy thing working properly, specifically staying on line. I keep dropping connection, although diagnostics tell me I am on line, or sometimes I get a message telling me to reconnect.

lolol.....

You're awesome Ickie!

I have an iMac that runs from 8AM to 1AM on average; Uses from Gmax to Photoshop, FS (all sorts of FS), then checking forums, emails from customers.

Laptop; hp Pavillion DV6000; rarely use. Only time I use it mainly is when on a trip (like this weekend), and sometimes when running tandem at home, doing emails and things as huge installations run, HD maintenance, etc.

I use Apple MacOSX mode about 20% of the time. If I had Photoshop for mac, I would use Mac more often. It runs Gmax good (I hear) but not FS (because of DX issues in a new OS). The system is ultra fast and has the best office software which I do all LHC business through now, spread sheets, DOC files, etc.

like moe, i read the news (then the comics) while i eat breakfast. then later on after the gym and the doggies, etc, i come back to read/post on sim outhouse, music banter, guitar canada, beagle world and freecycle. then it's chores, or bicycle maintenance/repair and walk the doggies some more, then maybe check in here again. we watch movies on the computer that i collect in divx and avi format, sometimes with dinner. i download music on the computer sometimes while the other stuff is going on. after dinner the kids rule the computer until bedtime, and then i usually check my facebook, and several vlogs i follow in youtube followed by a 1 hour or so fllight.

Three of my four computers are dedicated Flightsim computers. The #4 computer runs the House mini computers. Example I have one in the kitchen loaded with recipes and keeps track of the food and will print out a suggested shopping list and that computer like the rest are also connected to the NWS, such i love the study of WX for a 2nd hobby. Oh im not on the power grid, I make my own power thru Solar and Geothermal generation.

Well as I'm out of work at the moment I'd guess I spend about 80 hours a week in front of #1 pc. I have a backup pc for "just in case". It's a basic single core 2 gig machine but it's come in handy googling for the odd fault on #1 pc; like the time #1 pc had upgraded from the internet and got stuck in a memtest with no way out. Both are home built.
