I had the pleasure of playing with this bad boy courtesy of Prowler1111 ( Ron ).I know I don't do screen shots as well as you guys do but here are some shots of the cockpit and plane. Also if you are into jet sounds...this one sounds unreal. From what I could tell everything on the panel worked. I downloaded this at 4:30am, was gonna wait till I got off of work to fly her....but I think you guys know what happen....lol. I figured I would post a few this morning so you guys can get a peek-a-boo of one sweet jet...BTW...this may be to much for you prop farts to handle :monkies:

BTW, the pilots heads also moves a lot and as far as the release date...I hope Ron will step in here and let us know.

That looks like the Iris F20 Tigershark afterburner effect to me and it doesn't look right, the Alphasim F106 afterburner effect looked better I feel!

It's amazing how rudimentary the instrumentation on the F-102 was. Nice model.

Thanks so much for popping in to complain about a work in progress!

:isadizzy:

I can't wait for this. Ron seems to know the planes I love. So I'm guessing he must secretly have a set of F9F Cougars in the works too. :)

Awesome! It will look great next to the F-106 in my hangar. And that's another century series for FSX.

It was not a complaint, its constructive criticism and wasn't even a crticism I was only saying the effect or model of the burner does not look right in my opinion thats all, infact I think the aircraft it self looks gorgeous but I was just being honest and giving my opinion, isn't that what showing your WIP here is all about?

This is my fault on some of the stuff the members are talking about. Ron didn't ask me to post these because he didn't want some of the members to pick it to death. They are still working on it and I thought some of you guys would like to see what is in the works. SOH is lucky enough to see her first while thet are still working on her and updating her. It is not ready for the release yet...so give them a chance to finish the product. They have great customer support and if something is wrong they will correct it. I have seen this many times in the past.

WOWOWOWOW relax gentlemen..itīs a wip (slaps his forehead..dang it..), the afterburner effect has been noted, itīs a 3d burner not an effect, might change it for a particle system one, also, the gauges will be changed from 2d to full 3d gauges (checkout the IRIS live stream).
Mike, iīm the fortunate one to have testers and friends like you. Thanks for posting these shots..please keep īem coming..

Ron has also given me chance to play with this and although I'm not a Century Jet fan at all, it's a great little model and superb fun to fly - just don't ask about my landing, which needs serious practice!!! :monkies:

As Ron says, it is still in development, so things at release probably won't look exactly like they do in those shots. I didn't click everything in the VC, but everything I did click did something, even if it had no real effect in the sim.

I'm review writing at the moment, but will probably go and practice some more crashes landings afterwards and see if I can actually get it to stop within the runway length. :icon_lol:

Exiting ! Looking great so far, Ron ! :applause:

Nit pick mode On

Good looking MBU-12/P there, Ron, but it was introduced in 1981. As the F-102 was retired from operational service in 1976 Deuce pilots never got to use the MBU-12/P. If you wanna go ARAIG ( and you do, don't you! :d ) you'd have to equip your Deuce pilot with the MBU-5/P ( introduced in the mid 60's to replace the MS22001 )

http://sectionf8.com/f86files/HGU22P-MBU5P.JPG

Bit more sexy than the MBU-12 too, don't you think ? :)

Btw, will there be an option to switch off the radar scope ?

Nit pick mode Off

Fantastic to have a full blown FSX Dagger to play around with. Good choice, mate ! You can't go wrong with 'Sticking To The Sixties' ! :ernae:

Pardon the nit pick, better now than once finished, right ? :d

Jan

Hey guys:
Javis:
Indeed, pretty aware of that, need to work on the textures and mapping, that guy sitting there needs to be 60īs-fied..lol.
As for switching off the radar, well, you can turn it on and off, put on auto scan, put your missiles on auto chaff mode (pretty clever concept back then..never worked) put it on low electrical power mode, tune the azimuth, Horizontal, vertical, range, even as most if not all does not makes any difference in the sim, it will keep yah busy, because that cockpit you see right there, is a busy cockpit, just like the original (ask Moe..or Ian..who still canīt land it). What the radar will do is detect AI aircraft.
As for the modeling, i used a source from Milviz,I found the model to be very accurate(externals) while the exteriors are pretty much not changed, the cockpit was reworked, and itīs currently being enhanced even further. What youīll see in it once released is what youīll see on RAZBAM aircraft from now on and even further, with more action being included to keep you busy while flying.
You can never go wrong with 60īs jets..lol...even if it wont sell much, who cares, there is a coming 102 and thatīs what matters
Best regards

This looks great! I am a fan of the Century series. Would you consider developing this plane into an F-106 later? It would seem to me that it would beat present offerings.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

@ Bone: the infra-red sensor turret allowed long range detection of targets without using the radar. Could be seen on Russian jetfighters as well.

I am not familiar with that model of jet fighter. It has a few similarities to the lines of a Mirage. I like that SR-71 style canopy.

July 6th, 2009, 09:12
Is it possible to make the drag chute visable on FSrecording playbacks? The way canopy's and drag chutes are animated on most planes, you never get to see them operate on playback.

Prowler1111
July 6th, 2009, 09:28
There is a drag chute included, but itīs coded to work like the a folding wing, so i doubt it will be visible in multiplayer, but will do in playback.

How about a SEA camo version without the stripes in the center of the fuselage.

I just looked at 8 pages of 102 pics at airliners.net, and most of the camo paints didn't have tailcodes, and none had the stripes.

I like the 509th FIS (PK) paint with the stripes. The thinking behind having a SEA camo without the tailcode and stripes is that it was more representative of the majority.

On George Bush's old squadron paint, maybe you could put "O-bomba" on one of the weapons bay doors...just a thought.
