I have to say the stock clouds in cfs2 are atrocious.

What are some good replacement textures?

I have heard about using fs2000 to fs2004 textures, is this possible and where can one find them?

the best and most realistic combination is Fs 2002 cloud pack together with the active sky WRE online satelight programme from justflight.

Here's a link to a set of FS2000 clouds that I use in CFS2. This guy went to town on this package. You can choose between 8 bit and 16 bit clouds, with a number of variations included for both sizes (8 bit being good for slower and less powerful systems, 16 bit being usable on more powerful systems). This package has it all. I have used the 16 bit clouds with very minimal frame rate hits in CFS2 for about a year or so. Prior to that I was using the 8 bit clouds. They are far far far superior to the stock CFS2 clouds and, in my opinion, the best clouds going for the Grand Old Sim.
