For CS XLoad, fits the acceleration F18 too I'm pretty sure, will have to test.

Nice shots, would love to have a place close by with military jets landing and taking off. :ernae:

Unfortunately, that was when we went on vacation to San Diego. The hotel happened to be on the approach path for the airfield, so we were buzzed multiple times each day (there were three carriers in port at the time).

Beautiful repaint. The Acceleration/CS Hornet deserves some nice repaints. :applause:

Looking good Bob :)

As an aside can anyone tell me how to swap the canopy from the Accel Hornet into the CS Xload Hornet ? I've tried all sorts of things but it's eluded me so far.

I find the Xload canopy a little too "milky",prefering the greater transparency of the Accel Hornet.

Cheers

I tried to make it a little less milky and I agree with you, looks like someone rubbed oil all over the canopy, LOL.

Cheers Graham!

I'm sorry to bring this up, but has anyone ever posted a fix for that awful canopy color of the Xload F/A-18? It's really bugging me :(

Ya he hasn't been around for a while. I know he was running into some problems with his internet package so maybe he is temporarily offline?

Yeah, this one actually was made back in July.

Anyhow, how about my question? Anyone knows the answer? :P

I cleaned many a canopy glass during my career. I bet I can get the oil off that canopy! :icon_lol: That, and scratches and crazing...... Anything to keep from having to do a replacement. I.E. Replacing a canopy on a Corsair II could take 3 hours, or 3 days. Depended on how difficult it was to line up the eccentrics for a tight seal on the canopy sil.

Not fun.
