Oups, sure not, should be "Haubenabwurf".
DOH! Thanks for the headsup!
That label needs alignment anyway, will get fixed ASAP.

Cheers Richard! (How's your P-40 coming along?)
Yeah, we started allover with the bump mapping, guess it didn't turn out too bad so far. There's also a couple of mesh refinments here and there, beside the obvious version-related differences over the early variants plus one or two "history-related" fixes (which will also find it's way into the early variant once we are done with these here).
The VC's are currently being completely reworked texture-wise, and naturally we'll have more functionality since the later variants had more stuff to boot.
The VOR type of flyers should find quite some things to play with.:icon_lol:

G'day Mat, I think the P-40 is looking ok, my trouble is I spend too much time flying everyone else's models!:applause:

I'll post some wip shots of it in another thread, but I am having a lot of fun building this one. It's great not a having a deadline to meet, gives me time to go back and change things I'm not happy with over and over and over... :icon_lol:

I'm quite enjoying the new model features FSX has over CFS3, I'm just starting to play with bones in some animations (pilot and canvas wheel well cover for the tailwheel for example). I've got my list of fixes down to about 5 items now so soon I'll start on the VC...

Looking forward to your new releases...:ernae:

Wow!!! Excellent work on the shots and I simply love the scheme on this livery! Can't wait, and I doubt I'll fly the early ones once I get the later variants in my hands, which are my favorites due to the look of the curves of the upper decking around the guns.

Thanks SolarEagle.
I know what you mean re the later variants being the more appaeling.

To me it's not necessarly the gun fairing.
It can't be under-estimated what the 152 mm that the engine has been moved fore from the A-5 onwards did to the overall visual appearance.
I think the shots below tell it quite good.
First is an A-6 with the longer nose but otherwise the same fairing.
Second is an A-4 with the shorter nose.

Thanks rwmarth.

Bit of cockpit W.I.P.
Just scratches and lighting on the major surfaces yet, no dirt, no special action to the instruments so far.
The last one is the most recent showing some more progress on the forward panel plates.
We're now close to baking the stuff.

The droptank? Well yes, just like with the early variants you can either configure it to not be there at all or you can release it in flight.

I had not read the engine was moved but that explains some of additional visual changes. Thanks for the comparision pics. VC is looking quite sharp as well!

Sure, so far we have a dozen or so subvariants each with two skins, alltogether in various levels of weathering.
