Here's a link to the first one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00l7q57/The_Secret_Life_of_the_Airport_Preparing_for_Take_ Off/

Enjoy...

...and tonight, if you're in range of BBC4 (21:00 BST), second episode promises DE HAVILLAND COMETS!

(I am so definitely going to buy this when they release the DVD). :bump:

Currently BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only, but all BBC iPlayer Radio programmes are available to you. Why? (http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/download_programmes/outsideuk)
If you are in the UK and see this message please read this advice (http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/download_programmes/told_not_in_uk).
Go to Radio channels home page (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio)

Sorry Naismith, didn't know you couldn't get it there. Maybe it will be shown on Canadian TV?

In fact I was slightly disappointed by episode 2. Too many baggage handlers saying how much they enjoyed, er, handling baggage, not enough classic aircraft. There was a bit of coverage of the Comet 4s beating 707s across the Atlantic; but no mention whatsoever of Comet 1s & what happened to them...

A little good film was shown. By a strange coincidence we saw a Finnair Viscount which I'd found myself parked beside in fs9 earlier that day!

Spooky. :icon_eek:

Next week - inevitably - it's the 'Where did it all go wrong?' episode, saying that airports have become Hell on Earth, whyever do we have them?, etc, etc.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. :frown:

BBC Canada - is awful. They have to have a certain amount of Canadian content by law - which is bizarre and kinda defeats the whole point. The BBC shows they do display must be the ones they can buy in cheaply. e.g. That dreadful Gordon Ramsey chef thing, really old AB FAbs, and Little Britain which in the main is just vulgar. I really wish they could screen some of the great documentaries and classic series etc... I have e-mailed them pleadingly to no avail. They do screen Newsnight - but at like 4am my time. Oh! and they have commercials too.
