Sorry - I should have tried it first.

Didn't realise that you had already been there.

Found the filename from Ian's link and did some digging. This is what I dug up:

Use Tom's Rapidshare link John and click Free User. You have to wait 30 seconds, but after that click Download and it'll download pretty fast. I just did and it all came through fine.

If it were not so large a file (38+ MB), I'd ship it to you in an email.

Tom's link worked for me at 1100GMT.

The Avsim version found by Trans1007 is 0.94, whereas the latest is 1.00.

And the Russian site has loads of repaints, sounds, panel but not the original aircraft, as far as I can see.

Well done Tom:applause:

Anyone find any documentation to explain what switches are what on the panels? It wouldn't start using the default autostart so I finally went to the overhead panel and switched everything on and got it started, but I had no clue what I was actually turning on. Also I noticed that it didn't react to trim inputs like every other aircraft I own. I have buttons on my throttle set for trim, but they had no effect.

Also, before someone mentions this. I have "tool Tips" turned on, but I could only find maybe 3 total instruments that gave me any english version of what they are, all the rest were blank.

If you have a look here:

The 4th item down is a "quick guide".

I've never had time to check this out so just keep the links for the day when...

Thanks Ian. Actually, after some thought on my part and then reading the posted info in that link. . .I know just what to do. . . .drag that file folder over to the trash can and release.

I'm not a "systems" type. . .I fly for the sheer enjoyment and when any airplane becomes tedious, as this one has. . .it's time to dump it.

Thanks.

With no VC, I might just pop in a different panel and be done with it. I'm also the "jump in and fly" type.

Ok, well...I downloaded the .94 version and for some reason the paint scheme I want to use will not load to the aircraft. Bummer.....so I guess my quest for the 1.0 version is still on. As to Tom's link I tried it about 6 times and everytime I go to do the download it tells me it has expired.

Out of idle curiosity I just clicked on the RS link, selected 'Free User', waited the obligatory 40 seconds and away we go.
Now, just as a matter of interest, are you using IE and a/or download manager??
No DL managers for 'Free Users' and IE7 is not much use either.

Firefox 3.0: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

You'll never go back to IE7 again!

I just retried the RS link and it's working fine on my IE7 rig. If it weren't so huge, I'd upload it to my little space on TVA's server. But something like that it a little much when I don't pay for the bandwidth.

Good on you John, hope you find Firefox to be as good as I do. Downloads are way faster than IE. Be sure to go to your Tools menu and click Options. Here you can set Firefox to control cookies, where downloads go (by default Firefox will download to your Desktop), and block pop-ups. It's a powerful little browser that takes does not constantly work in the background as IE does.
