I hope UTX-Europe is better than UTX-USA. I have it and all the patches and I still find it difficult to see golf clubs and cemeteries as in UT-USA for FS9. The landclass is worse too than that for UT-USA. I am disappointed really, I was expecting more and it gives one a good engine to change things, but when I activate it, I really can't tell much difference other than the correct water and roads. Part of this is due to FSX's :censored: cartoon textures. We need a Ground Environment Pro for FSX, anything but what is already there. Might have to try and install Tile Proxy again, but I sure fubared that the last time.

Cazzie, UTX: Euro is a must to have, if you visit Europe frequently.
Thanks for the HU, Nils! Downloading as I type.

I wouldn't use FSX with out UTX Europe instaled, it transforms the scenery with accurate coast lines and great roads.

I got it today kilo and personally, I really cannot tell much difference. Power line right-of-ways are still a POS. I still cannot recognize golf courses and cemeteries. Landclass is still way off compared to FS9. And there are still way to many autogen roads conflicting with UTX-USA.

Power line right-of-ways are still a POS.How the right-of-ways are drawn is a function of FSX and nothing to do with either UTX or GEX. The way that it works is underneath the power lines there is a 'mask' used to fade part of the underlying texture out, but not all of it, such that the aim is that the 'cut' in some ways takes on the properties of the ground beneath it rather than having one generic texture displayed.

I still cannot recognize golf courses and cemeteries.UTX provides these as separate textured polygons drawn on top of the underlying ground textures geographically located and shaped as per information from commercial geopgraphic data sources. Make sure that they are enabled in the UTX Setup Tool right hand feature tree.

Landclass is still way off compared to FS9.UTX provides enhanced urban land classification so the shape of cities and towns is far better than the default, and more accurate than the version in the FS9 versions of UT. It does not enhance non-urban landclass in UTX USA or UTX Canada, though in UTX Europe it enhances all coverage both urban and rural.

And there are still way to many autogen roads conflicting with UTX-USA.There is no such thing as autogen roads in FSX (nor FS9 for that matter). Roads are created either as vector lines (which is what UTX does) drawn on top of the underlying textures, or you may see them painted into the ground textures themselves i.e. they are fake and are not geographically correct.

Both UTX and GEX work within, and push, the limitations of the FSX terrain engine as defined by the FSX SDKs (software development kits) for the feature areas they provide.
