Well it's been a busy week for me after taking delivery of the Diamond DA-40 XLS mesh from Jose Valdez, one of our new designers.

We've been hard at work tweaking the fuselage details, and there's more to do yet, but I'm sure you'll agree it's shaping up to be a lovely looking aircraft. :)

I don't know where to put this, however I really want to get the word out that we're also working on GA stuff now.. :)

My favourite plane! Awesome, I look forward to it and I think that model looks very accurate. Will it have a G1000 or vacuum gauges or is it too early to say?

The DA-40 XLS will have the Garmin 1000 setup, and the old style analog pit will be with the 2 bladed prop model..

At least that's the plan so far..lol

BTW, if anyone has any in-depth knowledge or better yet, has flown the Diamond Star, please drop me a PM here.. :)

So you're saying a Vulcan isn't general aviation? I'm going to have to stop trying to get it into Compton Abbas now!
Lovely model by the way, planes not bad either....

I wish it was the twin.....I want a DA-42 for FSX!

Eaglesoft have had one on their 'Future Projects' page for months but that's as far as it got I think. :frown:

The model has been complete for quite awhile... It's been in the avionics completion hanger waiting for the G1000's to be installed... :ernae:

That is very good news. Will it have the new engines on it and do you need a beta tester? :icon_lol:

Succinct and to the point(s) :icon_lol:

Nice to see some more GA for FSX. Would be awesome if some developer would build a Socata Rallye ..........or how's about a Lambada/Samba ultralight (I could probably get loads of data on the latter as I know a bunch of guys that build them for real)

Sorry, we already have DA42 pilots on the beta team.
Our DA42 needs final tweaks to the FDE, Sounds, and Avionics along with a few more liveries.

Wow! This is great news! I will certainly be a customer on this bird. I tend to lean more towards General Aviation myself.

Awesome model! Very very nice...

*cough* 1969 piper Aztec I can supply photos of our plane *cough*

know the red bull aerobatic planes, the rv9's love to use the Aztec engines as they are 320hp each. Aztec is the only plane allowed by the government to do bug spraying due to the fact one engine can fail and you have more than enough power to pull out on a climb up a mountain side. You can stand on the brakes with engines at idle and the plane will want to rip the brakes off, its a sweet 6 person plane, and comes with ashtrays! ;)

Reno F1 Styled Pylon Racers would be a nice idea
but is there a market for them ?

could be popular if a new F1 race class can be intruduced to FSX

Thanks for all your feedback guys.. it's much appreciated.

Just one new one today.. I've been working hard the last few days adding bits here and there, and trying new things... she's pretty much all textured now too..

I started in on the FDE two days ago. The really nice thing is that Diamonds manuals are so thorough that they give you diagrams with all the measurments, distances, and reference points. All i need to do is basically plug in the numbers, run the planform through the mill to get Cl and thats just about it..It's gonna be a really sweet little airplane :D..
