I need a ruling from the committee. While in the engineer panel, I accidentally clicked on the wrong icon- the add fuel gauge (circled on right). I was trying to pull up fuel panel (left circle). There was no need to refuel I have plenty to get to Paris.

Currently enroute with a busted red Duenna. Should I continue or abort?

Hey, I'm trying to adjust to a new aircraft here.:173go1:

Moses03
June 13th, 2009, 19:52
At LFPB. Will sit tight until ruling has been issued. Redo, time penalty etc.

If I had not pressed the wrong button these would be the stats:

Landing Weight: 76756

*Close approximation.

Three strikes I'm out. :isadizzy: Good luck to all!

Don't depair, M. I plan on making an unapproved landing on purpose. There's a big giant airport out there someplace in the Pacific that will cut make a 2000 mile leg into a couple shorter ones. That is, if I can figure out how to get the gas from the tanks to the bloody engines in this Connie!

Moses03
June 14th, 2009, 09:36
These Constellations are more complex than the Avro. I gave our flight engineer a stern warning after we landed.

My last post was just momentary frustration after a long day. Will saddle back up and continue on here shortly.

Going for the big hop over the pond. Departing for Recife (SBRF). See you all in 6-7 hours or so hopefully.

TOW: 98,701 lbs
Payload: 15,000 lbs

Moses03
June 20th, 2009, 20:52
Well, I'm 6.5 hrs in and about 35 min overdue on Noronha NDB. Likely guess is that I have drifted too far south to pick up signal. Good thing I thought to chart all NDB's 250 miles north and south of Recife. Enough fuel to hit the Brazil coast. Let's see where I end up...

Prepping the search and rescue Kellet.....

Moses03
June 20th, 2009, 21:51
Thanks. 7.5 hrs now and nothing but endless ocean. I have been very careful since the start. Can't figure out what happend. Have 2-2.5 hrs fuel left.

Edit: Going to track W/NW from here. Have a feeling I went waaaay south.

Moses03
June 20th, 2009, 22:35
Got a hit! Been rotating NDBs and just picked up 355H at Aracaju. Yikes did I drift south!:kilroy:

Moses03
June 20th, 2009, 22:39
And there is the coastline. What a beautiful sight.

I told the passengers we had to divert to avoid a possible hurricane brewing up off Natal and Recife. They bought it.:engel016:

Willy

Thanks. Just glad the adventure ended safely. Personally I think one of those PanAm boys disabled the NDB and VOR...

The passengers were not happy having to take a long bus ride up north. To be honest I'm just glad they are not our concern anymore.

We have been trying to contact our S. American AOA office in getting some avgas trucked up here from Salvador. Might be stuck here a bit.
