Hi. I can't get REX to work, and am waiting for 2.0 to come out, as that is supposed to fix my problem (can't get "Step 2" in config manager to complete). Everyone raves about it, but for me, it is a no go.

OK, in the meantime, what other programs would you all recommend to improve on the default FSX weather and sky textures?

Right now, I have Aero Files 3 pack texture addon, but it really looks to be more for European locales; 99% of the time, I fly in the US.

Hi,

ASX or ASA for your weather program!

XGraphics

In addition to clouds & water textures, it also gives you options for the sun, moon, lightning, runway textures, taxiway textures, bump mapped airport turf textures, airport signage, runway markings, railroad textures, runway lighting and aircraft lighting.

If used by itself it will just enhance the existing FSX weather and environment textures. If you also have either ASA or ASX, then those two programs use the XGraphics and use their own weather engine that is much better than the default FSX one.

ASA is basically ASX, but much more powerful and is also backwards compatible with FS9.

ASA also allows you to use FEX, REX, XGraphics and I believe also GEX all at the same time. ASA will use the whole bunch to create a vast amount of weather and environment graphics combos.
