As far as the F4-U and the FG-1 difference was the FG had an updraft carburator which ended up with some startling starting situations as Bob Hansen from Maine found out.
He started the FG with the toe brakes and suddenly the whole cowl was full of flames. Bob bailed out and the airplane taxied off all by itself, gloriously in flames.

All of a sudden it's raining FSX Corsairs! I have been advised that A2A Simulations will be updating the Aircraft Factory Corsair up to AccuSim and will also improve the 3D models as well.

Well MM... I like em both. Robert Conrad is a pretty good guy in my book. Perfect kinda guy to play Boyington... short.. larger than life..tough.

[Puts battery on my shoulder] Go ahead.. I dare ya!:icon_lol:

Believe me, I'm not saying Bob Conrad isn't a good guy. He played a great Boyington. I just like the real thing over the hollywood version! When I was in the Corps I got to meet the real Col. Boyington. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life! He was a great guy who loved being around Marines which is something I completely understand! Like the man said "Show me a hero and I'll prove to you he's a bum!" S/F

The whole tv show could have stood better scripts, but it was fun watching those Corsairs and fake Zekes.

<-- met Pappi Boyington at an airshow

Great guy.

I also saw those Corsairs before they were restored for the show. They had bullet holes through them in many places.

Somg reat looking model work going on with that Corsair Straw! Should be a beauty.

I watched the old show, even as I hated its Hollywoodness - you couldn't just turn on your tv and see Corsairs flying unless you could stand Baa Baa Blacksheep.

it was a terrible price to pay but I paid it....every week.

"that chu Boyington?" lol - CHEEEEZY
