Great restoration. Oddly enough, I'm not keen on the bumblebee paint job. I always feel when a type got to the end of its useful life, they turned it into a target tug, which was somehow rather demeaning.

But that's just me. I'm only envious 'cos I don't have a Lysander.

There weren't many operational Lizzies in Canada though.

And remember, the Lizzie was still being useful right until the end of the war in devious and serruptitious ways in Europe and the Far East.

How does your comment make the poor Martinet feel lefty? Wasn't it designed as a target tug from the outset?:d

Yes, the poor old Martinet was indeed doomed to target-towing from Day !
Unlike others, such as the Henley, which was designed as a bomber but 'relegated' (not my words) to target-towing from an early stage.

The Lysander has always been a magical aircraft to me, with all its clandestine operations history. I prefer to remember it that way !

(But I'd still like a ride in one even if it is yellow-and-black ! :icon_lol:)

I've had the pleasure of seeing it in person already a little while ago.:ernae:
