I would like to see about possibly getting a list together to see who is working on what. My main reason for this is there are a few that I would like to try with the high-res paint kit but don't want to do it if someone else has it in the works.

I think that I would really like to try some of the Blue-nose's

I have been concentrating on the Commonwealth birds as everyone else seems to do the US ones (plus I felt the non-US ones were being neglected a bit ;) ). I just completed a very rare non-Commonwealth one I stumbled across in my research and I will post a pic in my other thread later.

EDIT:

See post #32 on this page http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=17309&page=2

I have no direct plans at the moment (P-47 first), but probably a few PTO ones...

I'm working on a number of 8th AF ships I'd previously done for myself, upgrading them to hi-res. I've got all the basic group markings and most of my time is currently being devoted to evolving my own paint kit, blending the best of Bomber_12ths with the current A2A one for finish, plus my own stencil set and dirt. I guess by the time I'm done we'll all have moved on to 4096 x 4096!!

This is Abe Rosenberg's E2-S from the 361st FG Bottisham, lost mid-August 1944.

BTW where do you guys get all the fonts for some of your wonderful creations??

IM doing an attempt at section eight with the paintkit by John Terrell. I plan to use the burn marks of the new paintkit by A2A for the exhaust parts.

kind regards,

question about photoshop: how do you create in an easy way checkers?

I did it with the square marquee tool. Once I had them somewhat lined up I tested how it looked in game. From there if one or two squares need to be lined up better but the others are ok you can use the magic wand to select only the ones you want to change. Say one square needs to be slimmer you can select it with magic wand then then go to edit - free transform then drag the box's around that square to what you want it to be.

The fastest way I did it was make one row of the squares, then merge them to one layer. Duplicate that layer and move it over. After doing that you now have two or three layers and rows of squares. Hope that makes since.

If you are doing the black and white checkers you are more than welcome to have the psd file that I already have made to save you some time. Let me know.

For the chequers on my RNZAF paint I created a square paintbrush at the size I wanted for the square. Then it was a simple case of click/move/click etc. and then switch paint colour and fill in the missing squares using the same method.

I can now use that same paintbrush for other paints and resize it using the slider. It certainly makes life easier and took about 5 seconds to make (but I did have to read the help file on how to make one in the first instance as I had forgotten how to do it....it's been a while since I last created a custom paintbrush :redf:).

I have been looking around and I think I would like to do Petie 2nd a go possible moonbeam mcswine. I'll need to look around and see if I can find any other art for the other blue noses to make. Then I would like to try Old Crow, then back to the black and white checkers maybe if someone hasn't done them by then.

Well I saw one called Wee Willy II that I really want to do although I am not very skilled in repainting so we will see how it turns out.

I've done a Moonbeam McSwine already, that I can easily convert to 2048 dds if you insist, or are interested..

As for Wee Willy, I've done a Wee Willy of the 357th:

Does anybody have high res pictures of the killmarks on shangrila (registration: N51VF) (not the one based in mexico that is slightly different)? I'm working on it and that is the only picture i dont have. the noseart is readily available. all that is left to do for me is to add invasion stripes and line up the checkers correctly.

kind regards,

Meso
