Ok I think these should be done. As far as my eyes can see they look pretty good I suppose. I don't think they are perfect but it's the best that I can do. I'm not sure how to upload them but I'll see if I can find out how to do this if you want these. Let me know what you think about them, don't worry I'm married and can take it. :kilroy:

The first is Big Beautiful Doll and the Second is the Tuskegee "Bunnie"

I have to wait to get a special upload username and password, I'll get them up here just as soon as I'm able too.

I'm just kidding about the marriage thing, my wife is great! To be totally honest I probably wouldn't know how to get out of bed right side up without her anylonger. lol but I tell ya, I've had her mad at me before and it isn't pretty at all.

ok I have uploaded them, once they get approved you should be able to get them. If you get them and find something that I missed let me know and I'll see about fixing it.

May be nitpicking here but is it possible to change the pilot skin? I believe the Tuskegee pilots were African Americans, right?

Great repaints BTW. Thanks!

I can see, however these are my first two re-paints that I've done and I'm not sure how to.

The pilot texture is located in the main 'Texture' folder and is called 'pilot_us.dds'. You would need to open this up in your paint program and change the hue of the skin areas and then save it as a DDS file in the usual way but NOT to the the 'Texture' folder, it needs to be saved to the repaint folder you are working on.

FSX reads the currently active repaint folder first and if it is missing a file it then looks in the common to all 'Texture' folder. By saving the modified pilot file to the repaint folder you force FSX to load the modified file instead of the 'common' file.

Thanks Tako, I'll give that a try and see if I can fix that

Awesome work, Headwind! :applause:

Not knowing you're already on it, I intended to do the "Doll" for the FS9 model (I purchased the "solo" pack with no Doll included). I got a hint that you did the FSX version.

This is how your textures appear wrapped around the FS9 model (after flipping, resizing and converting).

Thanks a lot for your brilliant repaint!

Cheers,
Markus.

I took this shot at last year's Berlin Air Show (bad backlight this day...).
Please take it as a small gratification for your work, Headwind! :ernae:

Think I'm gonna try to get the red outline at the front windows set.
Note the altered killmark-swastikas!

Taxiing a P-51 is not that hard - as long as you have some guys around to push her...:

Interesting for the Berlin airshow they have to X-out the swash-stickies. Yes, I understand the law! Just an interesting note (at least I find it intersting) that I never noticed before.
