Just took her for a blast and man what a fun plane! I wasn't trying very hard but could manage outside loops, Cubans, hesitation rolls, hammerheads, prop hanging etc etc etc without even having to think about it.

It's a keeper for sure! Well done Piglet for turning out another winner!

Hello there guys

That plane looks really really good in FSX and thanx to mr. piglet!:applause: We have some flying or did fly around the airshow circuits, called the maxda Zoom-zoom team, they did some aerobatics that was mirrored, was really nice!

Anyway is there any change of this nice plane coming to fs2004.....?:kilroy:

An aerobatic plane and I missed this!

Downloaded now, but I am off to work in a minute, so flying won't be until this evening. :(

I did look into the zip file though - you did speculars - great! That is so good - even payware devs forget them or are too lazy to create them.

...and then I see that there's no bumps. That's a pity. So I thought again... could it be all plastic?

Airliners net.... Nope, the Red Bull one clearly shows bumps:

http://www.airliners.net/photo/The-Flying-Bulls/Zlin-Z-50LX/1527683/M/

So how's about it Tim? Care to activate bump mapping on an upgrade? Shouldn't be too much work, should it? Maybe I can help - or one of the many more talented folk around?

Yep,very quick photo real skins but all my shots are artistically edited .
You can make your plane shinier by darkening the alpha channel a tad more. I,m still toying with that myself.
Here,s the unedited versions.

I forgot to say a big thank you Tim for the unbelievable FDE.I didn,t care much for aerobatics planes until now.It can do what the real thing does.What a pleasure all around.

Right, a few deca-minutes of "Wheeeeeeee" later...

In a word, Tim, "Gorgeous".

Knife edge, roll, flick roll, hesitation rolls and loops, inside-, outside-, flat and cubans - all possible. And very crisply I might add.

If I may be so bold as to make a couple of critiques though...

Lomcevaks need refining. The basic Lom is to fall off a vertical climb, wait for the nose to hit the horizon and then full power and rudder with the torque. It's a plane wrecker, but can look awf'y impressive. I think there is room for improvement in the FDE here.

Stalls. Full stall is very interesting. The Zlin simply keeps its nose above the horizon and sinks - too slowly. What was interesting was that when applying full throttle from the stall, you can keep attitude and climb away quite nicely.

Spins. Basically linked to stall and therefore they are a bit wobbly, so the FDE is a bit wanting here too.

Slips - WONDERFUL!

All in all no complaints whatsoever. I really enjoyed that. OK, a few critiques from someone who probably wouldn't really know a Lomcevak from a flick rol :pop4: so no worries there.

And maybe a bit more braking effect - as you can see, I had to go around because the trees got rather uncomfortable. Hmmm, maybe I should approach slower?

Many many thanks Tim!

Note how well she holds altitude in the two knife edge screenies...

It's a real beauty and flies GREAT! Has anyone else had a problem with the tachometer? Mine is stuck at 2,700rpm and never moves no matter what throttle setting I use. The airspeed drops and the manifold pressure drops but the tach stays at 2,700 rpm. I am using Sp1. I even tried other tachs and all did not work. Any help sure would be appreciated. I wrote to Tim but have not heard from him yet. Regards, Bob.

Just downloaded this and took it for a flight. First impression was "wow". It is a twitchy little thing. It does loops like their it's job. Rolls are perfect. Even some of the more complicated manuevers are possible in this FREE plane. I have been wanting a good aerobatic plane for FSX for a long time and this does it...and better yet, it's free! You have outdone yourself Piglet. Thanks so much.

Bomber_12th
June 9th, 2009, 21:55
I just took it for a flight earlier tonight, and I'm very impressed with it, Tim! It offered me a great change in pace when compared to working on and flying Mustangs all the time. While I've flown a considerable amount of 1940's, and prior, piston power, I don't have all that much experience in aircraft designed simply for aerobatics. However, I felt very comfortable because the flight dynamics are so superb. It is one of the most honest and forgiving aircraft I have flown in recent times, and it will do anything you ask of it. It was a real joy to be able to easily sustain prolonged knife-edge passes down the runway, and with every aerobatic maneuver I pulled, it was nice to be in-charge of what was going on at all times. The controls are extremely responsive, but not twitchy, just very crisp.

I'll be coming back to this one a lot! Thank you for sharing all of your hard work Tim, I really appreciate it!

If anyone is having problems with the Zlin nosing over at low taxi speeds when you hit the brakes I spent a little bit of time tweaking the brake settings while in MP with a buddy the other day and now I can apply full brakes without nosing over and it still stops reasonably quickly on landing.

Just replace your entire [Brakes] section of the aircraft.cfg file with the data below:

[brakes]
parking_brake =1
toe_brakes_scale =0.8500
differential_braking_scale =0.850000
auto_brakes =0
hydraulic_system_scalar=0.00000

Late to the party, but when in the VC, I have no gauges?

I'm sure it is operator error on my part, but I am new to adding freeware A/C.

What am I doing wrong?

heywooood
February 6th, 2010, 15:17
because Piglet uses stock gauges in his planes - you need to go into each of the default FSX aircraft 'panel' folders and copy the 'cab' file - then go to the FSX 'gauges' folder and paste them in there....once done - you will have gauges in all Piglet Products

the 'cab' file is the one that looks like a stack of books strapped together - do not open the files, or remove them from their respective panel folders - just copy and paste each one over into the main FSX gauges folder
