This past week Louisville has encountered the tropical weather leftovers from the system that inundated Florida with rain. Many interesting cloud formations have been the result.

This first pic reminds me of the famous Hubble Pillars of Creation.

The next two just show beautiful rising cumulus, ones which would be nice to have in FSX.

This last pic was not taken this week, but is the most unusual pic of cloud pics I've taken. Weather in the Louisville area was particularly severe that day, with tornado watches. The rising bubble of water vapor reminds me of the early stages of a Hydrogen bomb test. My home is the one centered.

All pics were enhanced to show cloud detail.

Very nice, I love cloud pics. Great detail, what an odd cloud that last one!!!

Here's one I took probably 10 years ago right from my deck, we had a funnel cloud near our house (not on the camera though), but here's the mesocyclone supercell

Kewl, I've been collecting some cloud images for backdrops to Max8, these are no good for Max but were kind of exciting, the first was real late in the evening and the sun had gone down except for the top of the cloud.

The second was an approaching thunderstorm.

The last three are my infamous wall of fog images, these are the best from the whole sequence.

None of these have been edited, just the raw images.

Impressive and awesome pic, Ryan.

Michael, would have loved to have seen that first pic in real life, also awsome. The cloud bank sequence is great. Must have been impressive to watch it come in. Great you were there to capture it.

I usually glance up at passing planes with envy, but those are the kind of clouds that make me happy to be on the ground. Nice ones!

Forgot to say, the thing about the first one is that it was slowly rotating left to right, very surreal and just perhaps a little scary.

Jim, the fog bank was very impressive, I was on top of one of our cranes at the time, about 150 feet high and clear of the ground fog, couple of images below showing the view before the cold front arrived. Out in the distance was this sort of lump, about 10-20 miles across, didnt think nothing of it really, looked up later and it was closer, moving at about 30mph, just in front wasa clear patch where I snapped the above, then it blew through, temp dropped a good 10degC, wind jumped to 35mph and small amount of rain, 2 mins later it was all gone and a clear day behind, very spectacular, the Co I work for loved the images, plastered them all over their internal magazine and web pages LOL.

We also often get spectacular sunsets and rises

Some alien spacecraft use a CCD to hide in our skies, CCD is the acronym for Cloud Cloaking Device, I know first hand as I was abducted and forced to mate with a jellyfish looking creature aboard their freighter. :173go1: :ernae:

Man.. Some incredible cloud photos.. I need to start taking some.

Arizona can really sport some nice, red sunsets and sunrises. We can have shortages on clouds though in the desert regions.. arrgh..

<-- - have to wait till monsoons...
