.
Another set of previews, this time from the upcoming Tongass Fjords package, which is still in Beta.

Just in case anyone is interested, the FSX version on my PC runs far better than the FS9 version did, and looks quite a bit better.

There are already far to many images to post here, so if you don't mind I'll direct your attention to my little forum where all the images are presently gathering. Of course I'll post updates here too.

All screenshots here: http://forum.siminsider.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=224

Thanks for looking :ernae:

Looking real good!:applause:

How many squared miles does the scenery cover?

Good question...Edit: See Bill's post below.

It's approx. 30,000 square miles. Here's a map lifted straight from the manual.

I'd plump for what Bill said then ;)

Amazing work :applause:

On a side note, I'm wondering if the Snow Dog package will still work?

Marlin, here's another lift from the Tongass X manual:

At the point of this writing (April 2009) we're aware of only one scenery package that partially covers the Tongass Fjords X area and is not compatible with it. The add-on is named "MoCat's Snow Dog Tours", by Chris Carel –
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxscen&DLID=119739/ - and it adds buildings and objects to airfields and seaplane bases in the Tongass Fjords X area that don't fit with our landscape and objects. (At the time of writing this Avsim’s library was not available anymore, but they expected the library to be brought back on-line).
However, if you already have Chris' add-on series installed and want to keep using it for its locations outside of the Tongass Fjords X coverage area, there is an easy fix: make sure that its two scenery library menu entries, probably named "Ketchikan Alaska" and "SDT_Objects" are below the two Tongass Fjords X entries, meaning at lower display priority. That way our excludes will remove Chris' objects within Tongass while all of his enhancements outside our coverage area will remain visible.

By the way... apart from the photoscenery parts, does this use some custom ground textures? Ground looks so good in those shots.

As one of the fortunate beta testers for this scenery, I can tell you this is one you really won't want to miss. Just superb, and an incredible amount of very talented work.

I was doing a scenery of Chichagof Island which includes Hoonah and south. Tongas includes this except for the north end with Hoonah. I stopped work so I can wait for this. What this doesn't cover, I will.

Could someone post some pics of Bronson Creek (CAB5). Been there in reality, very nice and impressive spot. In the former version some guy names Rob de Vries from the netherlands made a very nice addition for Bronson. :jump:

Beautiful shots Nick!! I agree, this is far better than the FS9 version.

I also have a new FSX rework/upgrade of my FS9 Alaska Trophy Tours scenery to go with this landscape.
