I'll be darn this new 737 from Posky loves FSX as well.
Check this thread in FS9 next door http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=16949
All it needed was a panel size adjustment and she is fps friendly for a port.

DL-ed the bird earlier today. Have not installed it yet due to the note in the readme; FS9 only.

Happy to see you managed to port this bird over to FSX.

One Q; does it have a DVC?

No Vc, I just adjusted the panel X,Y and added a thumbnail.

Shame it doesn't have a VC. No sound. Crashes FSX when you end a flight.

Oh well, perhaps there will be a dedicated FSX version. I've uninstalled it for now.

Ok I did some poking around and came up with this. Sound delete the sound from the P-8 you installed and copy the 737-800 sound and paste to the p-8 folder then follow next steps.

1. In the plane you just installed rename the panel folder "panel.9".
2. Copy the panel folder from the Default 737-800 into the plane u just installed.
3. Copy the Posky737 and the PkyUtil Folders from panel.9 to the 737-800 panel that u just copied.
4. Open the Panel.cfg in the copied 738 panel.
5. Scroll down till u see the following.

May be you guys know this . On some POSKY B737 I was able to add the virtual cockpit from default
FSX B737-800..but no on all of them..Some, like this P8A Poseidon are becoming invisible when I try this trick. I would be awesome to have the default FX VC working in the P8A .In the shots it,s a regular no VC posky 737-700
with a fully functional FSX VC added..Anybody knows why it,s working in some models and not on others ?

Yeah POSKY updated some of their models to FSX Native standard so they could use the default VC unfortunantly none of the military versions have undergone the same treatment yet.

I am, by no means, that knowledgeable about the subject. But somewhere I read that the Navy had been reluctant to change from turboprop to jet for subhunting, because of the jets ability to maintain a slower speed over a search area? Anyone know more about this?

Thanks.

Like always when something new will come up or should come about --government entities cause some projects to become "quicksand"......look how this project started, the time it took to be realized and all the shifting around ( what politicians were messing things up is not told by the article).....many others about this plane.

Want to hear something even more peculiar?

No MAD boom. There wasn't enough room for the MAD sensor suite so that task is going to fall on UAV's.

We're working on a potential MAD UAV right now...

...that the updated Orion 2000 would have been a MUCH better platform, but the Boeing was selected instead? Strangely enough, I have heard that it was a better platform and that the main reason the "Posideon" was selected was because the NAVY fliers "wanted a jet".

Mind you, hope I'm wrong-- toadying to the whims of a group because they want to set themselves up for post-military employment is the type of goofy self-interest people seem to be getting away with these days--if the story I heard was true.

I dunno...to me, the Boeing doesn't have the personality or capability (other than high transit speeds) of the Orion.

The decision of getting a 737 variant seems pretty logical to me.

The Orion is based on a 50 year old design which is hardly used outside of the military anymore, so getting spares could become a quite costly affair.
The 737 is a current, widely used design and thus cheaper to maintain since spares are in higher demand.
