I did one by myself that, let's just say there is considerable room for improvement. Trying to figure out how to do one the right way now.

just sussed this out myself so i'll have a go..
texture needs to be named mytexture_t.bmp
with a mid gray alpha (deeper the gray more shiny reflective it becomes)
but the texture needs to be refered to by the model file so i dunno if it's possible to take a non metalised aircraft and alter with-out have-ing acces to the model file...dunno if it helps much Willy!

Thanks Bort. I'll have to dig around and see if it has the _t.bmps

Well that didn't seem to change to a thing. I suspect that the model is not set up for shiny textures. It's the Just Flight/Aeroplane Heaven Spitfire Mk XIX.

yup sorry Willy should have said the model file allso needs to use the "has light map" option when exported ..without that the alpha channel on the _t.bmps just renders them transparent (i think)
summat like that any-way...

a quick way to check to see if reflection is allowed on a model, make the alpha solid black on the texture, if it shows as super shiney, you're in good shape, if you see through it.... well :tgun2:
