...shipped a nice-looking FSC file into my weps shop with an order for a working BGL. The new torpedo is very nice looking, but he's got it hanging under a very, very strange looking aircraft. I've never seen the like of it.

Ya! "Vickers Vildebeest MkIV
A torpedo bomber in service with the Royal Air Force from
1932 until 1942, during which time they operated in the UK,
Ceylon and the Far East, suffering heavily during the Japanese
invasion of Malaya and Singapore." [David Eckert]

...and I was thinking it was just a 'Stringbag on steroids'. :bump:

I don't know this for a fact, but I suspect we might be seeing more of whatever it is. She's being kept in a hangar across the way by this guy who placed the order for the new torpedo BGL. He has mischievous eyes, a shiny pate and paid in cash. :kilroy:

Stringbag maybe, but definitely not on steroids....

Read Bloody Shambles: "The gallant 72", and later on Java, where 8 Vildebeests (& one Albacore) attacked the IJN invasion fleet. Sad story.

...I just produced the wep BGL for the nicely formed new torpedo. That and the plane are the work of 'he with the shiny pate'. I'm just his barker. :kilroy:

...he's the armament officer running his check list:

- Cutlass in cockpit for brandishing...check.
- Bag of rocks for throwing...check.
- List of creative profanity to shout...check.
- Individual bags of shight, also for throwing...check (hmmm, just call him a Shight Hawk?)

Yep, she's ready for launch! :wavey:

or as I call her the V'beest

this is the best I can do at the moment - on the ramp in undercoat waiting for a real paint job

still lots to do ( including multi-res )

thanks to T_R for the bgl job

Verrry nice Baldy, thanks a lot!! I've been looking around for Ceylon/Indonesia Vildebeest schemes plus North African ones for the Vincent.. There's hardly any real difference between the two.. Are you planning to do a Spanish Vildebeest also?

baldy
May 27th, 2009, 13:08

She'll require a three bladed prop for later aircraft. I have a couple of schemes floating about somewhere......

baldy

Nearly a disaster - generated a/c after adding bits - result - invisible aircraft - panic stations - sorted it eventually by deleting lod models - must be some conflict in there - will have to redo lod.

Anyway panic over ( for now ) here's latest pics - still in undercoat

....an unintended Condition in a Part Property. A 'something visible' type. Or it could also be an LOD model mislabeled as something else in the Models library. :kilroy:
You'll sniff it out. :ernae:
