Icarus,
I love the Kingfisher, but you should know there is an outstanding freeware version for FSX by Tim Conrad (Piglet).

The Aussie camo version and USN "64" are by SteveB and are available right here at SOH. These paints are on about page 9 when you search the files section by his name.

I don't have any VC shots; it is functional but pretty basic and not at the level of most current FSX payware.

Icarus,
The external model from Piglet's Kingfisher is still up to today's standards. I have it since it was released for FS9 and when he converted it into a FSX native models it was one of the first add-ons in my FSX install.
There are loads of very nice repaints available for this model.
The model shows its age in the VC. However it is simple but functional and I personally like it.
And perhaps most important of all, you can't beat the price!
Below:
On water, the wheeled version, the VC and on the trolley.

That being said, a new Kingfisher up to Gladiator standards would still end up on my system with some money in your wallet hehe.
Just would love to see the whole range of waterplanes from that era. ;)

As your interest is in seaplanes, I'd just like to jump in and add my own request for a Naval Aircraft Factory N3N, if you could find time to do it - I wouldn't mind helping out here and there. I've never had one in any sim I've owned, but have always wanted one. They came with both wheels and three floats which could be added to make it a seaplane. It was used extensively throughout WWII to train Navy pilots, such as George Bush Sr., who trained at my local airport during WWII, and it is still a popular aircraft today, but many unfortunately confuse it for the Stearman when they see it.

If it counts, I'd also like to my vote for the N3N or maybe a SO3C or SC-1 if it has to be a float plane. I'm still holding out hope that someone makes a Dornier Do26 before I finally find the time to sit down and learn gmax. Either way, if it floats and flies, it will probably end up on my hard drive. :jump:

Would be great to see an updated Do 26. Hauke Keitel did one for FS9 a long time ago.
One of my favorite flying boats.

IMO the most elegant plane out of WWII and one of the most of all time. Hauke Keitel's actually works in FSX with the usual problems but a native DO26 would be splendid and Icarus's quality it would be outstanding!

how about a Custer channel wing...
Coming along nicely. Still lots of work to do. However, it is flying well, and does the things that channel wing is supposed to do: takes off in 50ft at 30 mph, yet can cruise at 180. Can land at under 30 mph. Can carry lots of cargo. Initial climb 2500 fpm. Screenshot:

I think so. The museum is planning to restore their CCW-5 channel wing.
Last night I switched the colors to polished aluminum, which means I now have to learn how to do textures with rivets!
