Ah no, it looks like two planes have the same name :/

Yup. Two different Electras - worse than that, both by Lockheed! Way to make people confused. :icon_lol:

It'll be really nice to have one (either for that matter!) in FSX native format though. :applause:

Nice, I really like this plane. As soon as its out IŽll make a re-paint for a "Coastal Patrol" one that used to fly around here looking for dope traffic........:kilroy:

Most of you already know this, but........:

The P-3 Orion, originally designated P3V, is based on the same design philosophy as the Lockheed L-188 Electra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_L-188_Electra). It is not the same plane structurally; it has had 7 ft (2.1 m) of fuselage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuselage) removed fore of the wings, as well as myriad internal, external, and airframe production technique enhancements. The prototype YP3V-1/YP-3A BuNo 148276 was in fact modified from the third Electra airframe c/n 1003.

I flew one of those around the world (virtually) for the VA I fly for -- Noble Air. Had a great time. Took forever though in a propliner. Those four big Allisons turboprops cruise smoothly and will get you in and out of some small areas. I think it was the old Mike Stone version. Looking forward to this new one.
