Hi,

Another Catalina paint I'm working on: Catalina Mk.I JV933 / 3-C "Jøssing II" of No. 333 (Norwegian) Sqn. based at Woodhaven 1944. This aircraft is painted in the late war scheme of Extra Dark Sea Grey over White.

A beautiful presentation of an elegant old bird. She's graceful like a 1940 Lincoln Continental or a 1936 Cord, - designs that will never die.
Can't wait to fly her. I'm in love.

Hi,

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I'll try to get it ready for uploading later today.

The Norwegian Vingtor Cataline reference page has been mentioned before, but I post the link one more time. A lot of interesting history and info about the Norwegian Catalina Squadrons during the war (and post war):

I'm also working on Jøssing II as it looked during July 1945 when it was used to carry a delegation including the Commander of the Armed Forces, Crown Prince Olav, on a tour along the entire Norwegian coastline. On this occation the small Norwegian service flags were replaced by much larger flags. It did also have the new "KK" squadron code which 333 Sqn got towards the end of the war. I have two reference sources which mention different color on the letters; sky or red. Of interest is also that it has got the C type wing roundel.

Hi Jens,
Whatever I do I can't get the repaint to show in the menu. I've changed "ø" to "o" and checked all the entries in the cfg entry. Any ideas, I really like the scheme and am looking forward to flying?

Hi Jens, very nice repaint.

There is a small error in the cfg entry though which is probably whats stopping it loading for Roger.
The sim = line is on the same line as title = after a very long space.

Roger, try this and see if it fixes it for you.

My research for information regarding for the color of the code letters used on Jøssing II during the summer of 1945 has been difficult, but judging from b/w pics it looks like red. So here are a few pics of Jøssing in the scheme used early post war, stil under RAF control.

Maybe I can get this livery to show up in FSX. I could not get your 1 st. one show despite the [fltsim.xx]... post per Dangerous Beans on the previous page of this thread... had a Yago repaint do me the same way with Aerosoft's F-16 :crybaby:

Strange, really no magic with getting addon textures to show up. Have you controlled that the textures are in the texture.Jøssing_II folder and that the aircraft cfg entry more or less looks like this:

[fltsim.XXXX]
title=PBY5_Military_Jøssing
sim = PBY5_MIL
model =Vingtor
panel =
sound =
texture =Jøssing_II
panel_alias =
sound_alias =
kb_checklists =cat_check
kb_reference =cat_ref
atc_id =W8424
atc_id_color =
atc_parking_types =RAMP
atc_parking_code =
atc_airline=
atc_flight_number=
atc_type =Consolidated
atc_model =None
ui_manufacturer ="Consolidated"
ui_type ="Catalina"
ui_variation ="PBY-5 Jøssing II of No. 333 (N) Sqn RAF 1944"
ui_typerole="Twin Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="Aerosoft"
description ="Consolidated Catalina Mk.I JV933 / 3-C "Jøssing II" of No. 333 (Norwegian) Squadron RAF based at Woodhaven in 1944.\n\nBeside anti-submarine operations, the No. 333 sqn was tasked with clandestine operations along the Norwegian coast, including transport of agents and equipment."

Flameout I had similar issues. What I did was rename the texture folder to British (sorry Jens) and also change the cfg entry accordingly. Then I put it at the last slot in the cfg file and now everything showed up. I have a feeling it had something to do with the o with a thingie through it. Not a standard letter on my computer. ;)

Anyways, thanks for this repaint Jens Ole. It looks great!

It was the same for me.
I wrote a new aircraft.cfg entry for the Jøssing II and everything was fine.

Thanks for helping out with getting Jøssing II to show up. It might be the Norwegian letter "ø" which makes the problem on none Norwegian OS.

Thanks to all... I had tried that renaming the texture folder to Jossing and making the appropiate change in the aircraft cfg. section, but I prolly entered "o" for one word of text and "0"...ie; numeral character just above and to right of the "o" for the other word text... silly me :redf:

Jens, I saw your post over at Aerosoft's Forum and I copied and pasted that to the Catalina but it still did not work. This time I removed the "ø" entries from all of the text and BINGO there she was. IMHO a very classy repaint. :applause:
