http://www.guru3d.com/-/nvidia.jpgNVIDIA just released a bucketload of new drivers for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. These drivers are all WHQL certified. This is a WHQL-Certified driver supporting GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, and 200-series desktop GPUs and ION. New in Release 185 drivers:
<LI XBIVC="2">Adds support for the new GeForce GTX 275 GPU. <LI XBIVC="2">Adds support for CUDA 2.2 for improved performance in GPU Computing applications. See CUDA for more details. <LI XBIVC="2">Expands GPU hardware acceleration for the NVIDIA Video Encoding library to GPUs with less than 32 cores. Applications using this library include CyberLink PowerDirector 7, Nero Move it 1.5, Loilo SuperLoiloScope MARS, and CyberLink MediaShow Espresso. <LI XBIVC="2">Accelerates performance in several 3D applications. The following are examples of improvements measured with Release 185 drivers vs. Release 182 drivers (results will vary depending on your GPU, system configuration, and game settings):

I'll consider installing this driver, but honestly, drivers beyond the 181 series seem to make my 8800GT run slower.

I am running them on Window7/64 bit...no problems so far...I better shut up...don't wants da pooter to hear this...lol...Mike

You are also running an nVidia GTX 295, something far more modern and more advanced than my 8800 GT. I think the drivers and hardware have reached the point at which older cards see no benefit and may actually see a decrease in performance with the newest drivers. I went through the same thing with my old 6800 Ultra and 7950 GT cards.

Go to Guru3d and read about them...I think there are plenty of there members with the 8800 card...Mike

A lot of negative reviews at Guru3D regarding the 185 series, I think I'll stick with what I know works.
