What are some interesting dirt landing strips around the earth. I know there should be many in south west USA, just can't seem to find any. Also when you land on a dirt airstrip, is there a cloud of dust behind you plane?

If you want to download some really neat Bush Strips, Try North Cascades Bush Airstrips by James
Belk. Make sure to use with Holger Sandmann's 'US North Cascades Mountains and Northwest Washington Coast' scenery enhancements and mesh. They can all be downloaded from Avsim and I believe Flightsim.com. There are about 8 or 10 Different strips. Some easy, some pretty tough.
By far the best free Bush Scenery that I've found so far (Dont Hang me if you've found Better:)
I do most of my flying now out of these strips now. Once you master the Super Cub on these strips, Start flying the DC-3 into them.

I stumbled upon this site, which I found rather interesting:
http://www.simtours.net/runwaysurfaces.php

I've noticed that a good number of real-world dirt strips in Southern California are concrete surfaces in FS2004. Does anyone know how to change the surface type in the default FS9 bgls? I think the development team got bored or lazy and decided to go with concrete in many cases rather than use information that is widely available.

Kobbe Farwick, did some great Bush strips in Fs9. Love them all and have them installed and use them with my USCG Nh-90 siming mountain Rescue in serious wx conditions during the winter. you change rwy taxiawys ground type using afcad 2.21 or AFX.

Just open it with AFCAD and make the change, then save the new file to Addon Scenery\Scenery. In that location, you won't even need to activate them in the Scenery Library. I've got several afcad files in that location where I've gone in and repaird things like taxiways that join up with ramps but with a huge wedge cut out.
