Hey guys,

Does anyone know if Microsoft still produce FS2004 anymore? Or do they no longer produce it? Will they be manufacturing packages next year?

Many thanks,

Bill

I believe production ceased well over 18 months ago Bill.
It's readily available in Oz at 50% under the original price and in some outlets the discount is even higher.
I purchased a brand new 'back up' recently at 60% off and was informed that the remaining stocks are plentiful ......:kilroy:

Here in the Netherlands some stores still have the Microsoft release. It costs only 15 euros now. I think eventually Ubisoft is going to rerelease it as a budget title just like FS2002 and CFS3.

Bill,

Look in the sale bins at Geek stores, I got a copy for $10.00 ($9.95) at the local Game Stop.

Just wondered what store(s) you can find it at here in Green Bay?

Well, me and the misses have to run errands today. With any luck. Otherwise, I'll have to order from Newegg.

Thanks

I think I may buy another copy, just in case mine goes belly up at some point.

If I could order these by the case, I would sell them through my website.

Some customers will purchase a plane and not realise that it does not come with the simulator. It would be cool to offer both so its a one-stop-shopping point.

I sure wish I had a way to purchase the FS2004 franchise...

oh to dream..

I think Game Stop only sells Abacus Payware add ons and A2A. If you are talkin about the Mall Zone. Sorry you didnt find Fs2004, like I said I knew I saw some last Feb at those locations and they had like 5 to 12 copys each. Simmers around here must be eating them up like candy.

Don't forget to make a backup you can copy all the files from the CD's to one DVD and install from there.

You still need the original CD in to play. But it is another backup solution. I have one DVD with FS2004 and my favoutire patches and small commercial addons. I also keep the files on my hard drive for easy reinstallation.

This was explained in one of David Marshals FS2004 Tips & Tricks.

My FS1954 (modded FS9) install is over 54g in size. Kind of hard to fit that on a DVD. Wonder if WinZip will handle a folder that size?

I just ISO my FS9 to my external hd 256gigs. Im not going there about FSX, shes a fat pig for its install.

Trans is on it!

Willy,

Just get a backup HD, cheap, on sale with a link drive kit (about $19.99) and you can backup your FS installation to that.

You can almost think of internal drives now as being similar to old 8-track tape cartridges. Load them in the slot, upload files, stack them on the shelf.
