PRESS RELEASE:
================================================
Death Valley + HolgerMESH Released!

Photoreal scenery for FSX SP2 created at a resolution of 2m/pixel (some interesting areas has been made at 1m/pixel, like Trona), with autogen and enhanced nightlights. Summer Season Only. There are some very nice lakes with animated water. You will see that this area presents so many interesting things to see, it’s not only the desert... there are fantastic farms and rural environments, very cute cities, industrial areas and the scenery changes a lot during the
day.... you will see fantastic colour nuances depending on the time you fly. It’s also beautiful in the night, we experimented with a new method to realize the nightlights, very realistic, that we will apply also to the future sceneries. The HolgerMESH is included in the zipfile you download but has it's own installer so you can use it if you desire but you do not have to if you do not desire to do so.

Thanks JayKae, I am downloading now, everything I have seen from OzX is amazing so I know I am going to love this.

SirBenn21 - it is a huge D/L but as soon as I finish and can get airborne I post a couple of screenies (if someone does not beat me to it). But trust me if this is half as good as the rest of their stuff (and I am betting it is better with the new light effects) you will not be disappointed.

From the PDF file, the affected area covers the following airports:

Furnace Creek (L06) California
Stove Pipe Wells (L09) California
Lone Pine (O26) California
Beatty (KBTY) Nevada
Independence (207) California
Trona (L72) California
Inyokern (KIYK) California
China Lake (KNID) California

To download, click the 2nd link provided by JayKae. That page has a "download file" button, which takes you to another page with a "download file" button, which downloads a file that, when run, downloads the actual scenery file. If I have that right...

Thanks Jaykae, downloaded and installed, but I must head out to VIR and fly later this evening.

Death Valley is really nothing to look at in real life, think Afghanistan in the US. It is a barren, ugly place.

Thanks guys, I am not sure what is going on, the files were 191K so well with in limits, and I tried to upload twice, but even the second time when I selected just a single file nothing appeared after the Finished Upload was displayed...

Oh well no big deal there are screenies up now so the request was answered, there is plenty of time for me to add stuff in the future, I am just thankful that we have such a dedicated staff and admins who got this board back up after a full server crash, it's been said before but you guys are the best Thanks Bunch for all your haard work...

No screenies here, but the scenery is amazing!!! :applause: Shows just how realistic FSX can be, with the right scenery installed. Said it before, and I'll say it again, MS should have hired Holger. Thanks goodness he's still actively involved in scenery development for FS. Should keep FSX viable for a long time to come.

The large hole is a MESH issue ( I think ) that was picked up by the devs but as far as I am aware they could not do anything about it, hence the disclaimer in the manual about 'amateurs' making the scenery and there might be 'imperfections' :)

Hi guys,

that hole actually looks more like an incorrect flatten for a water body than a mesh issue (notice the sharp edges, which are untypical for terrain data). Cody, do you have any add-on installed that includes water bodies, like Ultimate Terrain X?

Cheers, Holger

CodyValkyrie

Holger Sandmann
April 28th, 2009, 08:53
Hi Cody,

I just re-activated my UT-X USA and don't see the hole then either, like Henry. Not sure what's responsible unless you maybe have an older version of UT-X that had lake elevation issues (wild guess).

Another option is to temporarily deactivate all non-default addon entries in your scenery library (including "Addon Scenery") and check whether that helps. If it does re-activate half of the entries, check again, etc., until you've narrowed down the addon.

Cheers, Holger

Holger, I am certainly using the latest versions of all software as I JUST RECENTLY built my computer and made sure to have the latest software of all products I own. Now, I haven't dug into it tonight, however I plan on tomorrow spending a bit of time with it and hopefully can come up with a solution or a better direction to perhaps lead us towards a result. I thank you for taking this time to work with me mate.

I must say, regardless of this issue which is seemingly on my side, this scenery is a MUST HAVE and I think many would agree with me that it would be successful even if it was payware.

Cheers and keep up the good work. More soon!
