I like the more unusual, but BIG.:icon_lol:

Railway guns are the flavour of the month at the moment. There's a few "Leopold" K5 of various scales and manufacturers and also the heavy mortar mounted on a railway carriage for travelling.....but...

There's only one 1/35 scale Dora.:kilroy:

At over 6ft long, 13 inches high, and 8 inches wide, with a barrel length of 36 inches, 2500 parts, this thing is HUGE.

The price you say?

Well, its gotta be quite something..

The aluminum replacement barrel is $300 (£176)...

Anyone got $669 (£393), thats cheapest so far. This price does not include post and packing/courier delivery or import taxes.:isadizzy:

Anyone got a few bob they can lend me?:costumes:

Thanks Snuffy....I had conveniently forgotten about that English group, but now you have resurrected the memories I'm reaching for the kleenex.:crybaby:

Think I'll stick with the 1/96 Cutty Sark and 1/4 Manga model.

All I gotta say is they have to have one hell of a garage to store all these toys!

Another justification of the old saying .....

The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. :d

You'll need the 1:35th Locomotive to go with your 'Dora' ...... :faint:

Here's the link to the build on the Dora that Snuffy referred too......
http://www.vonabt.co.uk/models/Dora/index.html

I can just imagine the look on his neighbors faces when it was finally all together..... with the gun barrel sticking out of the driveway. "Mable we gotta move! That old geezer Peter across the street is gonna start suburban renewal with that thing."

What an amazing piece of work. It should be in a museum.

Well I decided to go with the 1/72 versions of the Karl mortar with its rail carriage, Leopold railgun and a type 50 steam engine to pull one or the other.

Anything bigger will not fit into my flat after I make the diorama.:faint:

I just went back and checked that link I posted about the 1/6th scale dudes ... they now have two additional series of shots that involve the V1 and V2 rockets ...

This is amazing.

In the V2 series, they actually caught a shot of a Lancaster and a pair of Spits, apparently from a nearby airshow flying over thier diorama ...

check it out ...

Countered by the other one ...."He who dies with the most toys doesn't win, he just dies!"
