I am seeking help and guidance on two fronts. One is how to add the Shockwave light effect to the A26/B26 acft cfg file. The other issue is I am trying to create a working firing gun effect to the B26 counter invader. Don't have a clue how that would be done.
(FS2004 version)
Any one that can help or have suggestion on either or both is appreciated!!!!:173go1:

I odn't have the lightning package, but I've heard that the Shockwave forum has an extensive list of cfg entries for all sorts of aircraft - you may find the Invader there. As for guns, one of the payware vendors released a demo of their P-38 that contained working gun effects. I seem to have "misplaced" my copy - need to find it again. Anyway, if you can find a copy of that demo pack, you can always dig through the cfg's and put the effects into the Invader. Then it would just be a matter of trial and error to get the flashes placed in front of the muzzles.

Edit - found the demo:

Now that is an Interesting question indeed! But I know nothing about effects placement on a model (coordinates).

Has anyone of you good people added effects to this beauty, and if so, would you share the coordinates of them?

Many thx in advance!

I've got the gun effects from the demo spitfire. I'll see what I can come up with...

Brian

Edit:

Here you go. I set them up as strobe lights. you will need to install the demo Spitfire from Tom's post above.

I had to remove a few of the stock lights to make room.

Paste these over your lights section of the cfg.

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing

light.0 = 3, -0.5, -36, 4.05, fx_navred
light.1 = 3, -.5, 36, 4.05, fx_navgre
light.2 = 1, -29.49, 0, 13.0, fx_beacon
light.3 = 9, 5.40826, -0.589526, 1.499077, fx_vclight_Day
light.4 = 5, -0.5, -23.75, 1.8, fx_landing.fx
light.5 = 5, -0.5, 23.75, 1.8, fx_landing.fx
light.6 = 2, 17.41, -0.56, -0.12, fx_jfgun01p
light.7 = 2, 17.41, 0.56, -0.12, fx_jfgun02p
light.8 = 2, 17.09, -0.56, 0.50, fx_jfgun01p
light.9 = 2, 16.83, -0.56, 1.12, fx_jfgun01p
light.10 = 2, 16.42, -0.56, 1.72, fx_jfgun01p
light.11 = 2, 17.10, 0.56, 0.50, fx_jfgun02p
light.12 = 2, 16.84, 0.56, 1.12, fx_jfgun02p
light.13 = 2, 16.44, 0.56, 1.72, fx_jfgun02p

Thanks for the lighting tips, guys... two questions -

1. which is the model which contains crew member in bone domes?
2. Why are my gun barrels transparent (in FSX) which texture sheet are they on?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I do not understand the first question.

The gun barrels bmp is called guns.bmp. Try adding an alpha channel of white, or searching the FSX forum for Roger's guns.bmp.

Hi Milton,

thanks for getting back to me - I'm a big fan.

The model in the photo at the top of the thread shows crew members wearing helmets or 'bone domes' - but the only models I have found for download have the pilots wearing very tasteful ball caps.

Guns.bmp. Why didn't I think of that! Thanks!

Cheers

Mike

Ah, that appears to be Bomber_12th's B26K model.

The original A26B/C did have era caps I think. Sunglasses colors are changeable with renaming textures.

Odd - the one in the screenshot must have been a beta, then. I have downloaded it and the pilots have baseball caps... C'est la vie.

I still love it!

Thanks again

Open the aircraft.cfg file, scroll down to [LIGHTS] and replace light.9 and 10 with:
light.9 = 5, -0.7, -21.95, 1.58, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small ; LH Landing light
light.10= 5, -0.7, 21.95, 1.58, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small ; RH Landing light
Save the file.

"fx_shockwave_landing_light_small" must be in the Flight Sim Effects folder.
