Well, not exactly fighter, no, not a fighter... It was a radar-carrying "spotter", if you prefer, theoretically meant to vector the accompanying radar-less day fighters onto the target. The RAF tried something similar using Boston/Havoc Turbinlite aircraft with Defiants. Didn't work in either case!
