I was a beta tester for Mike's way back when. I'll certainly give this one a fling.

Carl Mortenson, the designer/builder of the real Angel 44 had previously designed and built another piston twin engined bush plane called the "Evangel". He mentions it in this article on the Angel 44 and says the Evangel worked quite well but lacked asthetics, indicating he thought it did not go over because it didn't look good.
I remember when the Evangel hit the aircraft magazines somewhere around 1970 if I remember correctly, and I thought it was a well designed twin bush plan. It looked rugged, had two 300hp engines, and a large high lift wing. It was a taildragger and had heavy duty looking main gear. Could take off in 500 ft. and land in 475 ft. It is hard to find pictures references of the Evangel but link below gives a front quartering view of the Evangel.

I think I found an issue with this when I was putting in my Nick's prop dust. It appears the x coordinates for engine 1 is -4.000 while engine two is set at 4.000. I'm guessing that the correct value is the -4.000 based on where the engines are set up visually. I am making the correction now and will let you know how it works out. Let me know if you want the prop dust set-up also. Been playing around with this little utility for a few weeks now and really love it, especially for the water aircraft :jump:.

Nick's Prop Dust. It's been around for a while now but I found myself getting back into it lately as I added it into one of my new Carenado planes and it looked great. So I started creating configs for other aircraft and realized that I forgot how nice the effects were. They are just wonderful on the water. I set up one of my 4 engine sikorskys and what a hoot to see the seawater blowing behind each engine when you raise the throttle :bump:

It can be a little work but I definately think it's worth it. As far as the Angel, here is my set-up:

First, add this to VC 01. I know the instructions call fo a whole new VC section but I found that just adding the gauge into vc01 works just as well. I think this could be more efficient also as there is one less vc in the config file:

gauge12=nn-gauges!MultiPropDustFXcontrol.xml, 0,0

Then go to your aircraft.config file and first correct the engine set-up or the rest of the following will not work correctly:

engine.0 = -4.000, -5.600, 0.000
engine.1 = -4.000, 5.600, 0.000

Then add these to the lights section. I have the shockwave lights so am using that seciton. If you are using the standard lights section you may need to re-number these. Also, I commented out the standard lights section as it was left open and no need to have two of them:

light.10=8, -10.00, -5.60, -6.00, fx_nickspropdust_dirt_s // Engine 1 dirt, dry mud, clay surface types prop dust
light.11=8, -10.00, 5.60, -6.00, fx_nickspropdust_dirt_s // Engine 2 dirt, dry mud, clay surface types prop dust
light.12=9, -10.00, -5.60, -6.00, fx_nickspropdust_gravsnd_s // Engine 1 gravel, sand and short grass surface types prop dust
light.13=9, -10.00, 5.60, -6.00, fx_nickspropdust_gravsnd_s // Engine 2 gravel, sand and short grass surface types prop dust
light.14=6, -10.00, -5.60, -6.00, fx_nickspropdust_watrsno_s // Engine 1 water, snow and ice surface conditions prop mist
light.15=6, -10.00, 5.60, -6.00, fx_nickspropdust_watrsno_s // Engine 2 water, snow and ice surface conditions prop mist

Then add this smoke section. I put mine in below the effects section so I can keep track of where they all are:

[SMOKESYSTEM]
smoke.0= -6.00, -10.00, -8.50, fx_nicks_watrsnoland_s // Engine 1 water, snow and ice surface types prop dust
smoke.1= -6.00, -10.00, 8.50, fx_nicks_watrsnoland_s // Engine 2 water, snow and ice surface types prop dust

Lastly, change the effects section to look like this:

[effects]
wake = fx_wake
water = fx_nicks_tchwater
dirt = fx_nicks_tchdirt
concrete = fx_sparks
touchdown = fx_tchdwn_s, 1
windshield_rain_effect_available = 1

Now, go to a dirt, gravel or wet ground surface :running:, rev up your engines and make a mess. LMAO :icon29:

I have been adding these effects in for weeks now so if you want any other aircraft set-ups, feel free to ask.

LouP :wiggle:

PS. Make sure you get Nick's All Wet as it contains the latest version of the prop dust plus an enhanced water effects set up.

I'll be looking that one up today for sure, thanks Lou.

I was piddlin' with the 2d in the Angel and added some noise to break up the flat color and drop shadows to add a bit of depth to the look of it. I also removed the GPS, added that to a reworked "avionics" window which included the radio stack and deleted the radio stack window. Then in place of the GPS in the 2d I added one of Eric Marciano's radar 2.0 gauges. (found here)

(Note: Image upload is not working, as soon as I can get that to load I'll have a pic of the panel here).

NP, glad you like it. The four engine aircraft are the real challenge :mixedsmi:
