View Full Version : How..open/close hanger doors?

As most of you know I fly out of Bremerton, WA. Mainly due to it being the nearest major airport to my vicinity. It's great scenery.....but,

I don't understand the procedure for opening the hangers doors. Here's what the included read-me says;

The large southern hangar has 6 doors that will open and close on command. Use an aircraft with a NAV1 tuner available and set it to 110.00 to operate the hangar doors.

I'm not too savy on doing this. Was wondering if someone can help this bone-head out...lol

Just park in front of the doors and set your nav 1 to 110.00 and they should open. Normally the scenery designers use nav 2. Double check this. :wavey:

Haha...ok, I'll give it a try.

Thanks

My only thought is that the Joe Binka's Wilga does not have this NAV1 radio option either in pop-up or VC. I've set the tuners both to 110 and nothing happens.

I'm going to test another aircraft

Update; the hanger doors work accordingly with an aircraft that has NAV radios. Tested, and works like a charm. Very neat

It appears that the Wilga doesn't have the options/radios to perform this function.

Is there any way to add this feature?

Thanks for the helping hand Terry:wavey:

You'll also have to be very close to the hangar too

If you open up the panel.cfg file of an aircraft that has a pop-up panel with the radios that you need, most likely one of the default aircraft, you can copy/paste the text that describes that pop-up panel and paste it into the panel.cfg of the Wilga plane you want to modify. You might have to tweak some numbers so that you don't have two panels with the same number, but that should be about the only tweaks you need to get it to work.

Make sure you have a back-up copy of the panel.cfg file before you start tweaking.

Any radios/gauges can be added to virtually any aircraft if you know how to edit the panel config file in 'Notepad'.

As an example you could open up the panel.cfg file of any aircraft you have that has radios you want to use and simply copy the information into the Wilga panel.cfg file.

For instance this the data for the default FS9 Cessna 172 pop-up radio stack panel:
[WindowXX]
BACKGROUND_COLOR=2,2,2
size_mm=156,308
position=8
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL

gauge00=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Audio, 0, 0
gauge01=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 1, 0, 29
gauge02=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 2, 0, 86
gauge03=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio ADF, 0, 142
gauge04=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio DME, 0, 180
gauge05=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Xpndr, 0, 217
gauge06=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio AP, 0, 262
Copy and paste that into the Wilga panel.cfg file in the area where the other [WindowXX] entries are located making sure that you don't inadvertently paste it into another section (make a new blank line after the previous entry and paste into that to be sure).

You would also need to copy and paste this line to the [Window Titles] section at the very top of the file:
WindowXX=Radio Stack
Then you simply change 'XX' to the next available number or if you want the radio stack to always be on say the <SHIFT+2> key stroke change the 'XX' to '01' (it's always one number lower than the key you want to use as the first entry is always '00') and renumber any existing entries in both the [Window Titles] section and the [WindowXX] section so that you don't have two pop-up panels with the same number.

Make sense?

@ X_eidos2 (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/member.php?u=29153)

I don't have much faith in me attempting this..lol

@ Larry

I'll give it a try. Making a back-up of the panel.cfg for sure. The process you describe sounds like I'll definitely screw it up having never done something of this nature...lol

Well, I can see the radios now, But when I hit shift+2, this fills the whole screen.....

Is there by chance a way to make it a bit smaller?........LOL!!!!!!!

Add the section below to the AIRCRAFT.CFG in order to have radios that turn on and off. I use FS Panel Studio for FX/FS2004 to make it easy for me to add radios to old aircraft without any.... also need to have some kind of radio gauge in PANEL.CFG. Hope any of this makes sense.

[Radios]
// Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1 =1
Com.1 =1,1
Com.2 =1,1
Nav.1 =1,1,1
Nav.2 =1,1,1
Adf.1 =1,1
Transponder.1 =1
Marker.1 =1
Adf.2=0,0

All the best.

Ed

Ole Boy try changing the values in this line in the data I posted above (it's in the [WindowXX] section):

size_mm=156,308

Try reducing both values by 50% or even 75% and see where you go. It may require a bit of trial and error depending on your screen resolution.

'edmoore235' may also have a valid point if no radios are specified in the Wilga aircraft.cfg file (I don't have it so can't check for you). Just copy and paste his info into the aircraft.cfg file if my suggestion doesn't work for you.

Hey, after you figure all your radio stuff out, could you tell me what scenery for Bremerton your using?

I am using somebodies (can't remember who) and I don't think there's hangers to open. Maybe I need to look around more on the ground!

Thanks again for the help.

My resolution is 1650x1080.

I added Eds' info to the aircraft.cfg. I'll see what kind of numbers (if any) I need to make the radio stack pop-up smaller.

Yup, that's the one I fly at too. Guess I didn't realize there were opening hangers there too. Like I said... Have to look around more on the ground.
It is a great scenery package once you change the fence.

Change the fence? You mean there's a way to fix that dang fence so it's not going across the tarmac?

Do tell

I was referring to the upgrade that changes the texture of the fence to help with frame rates.

Ahhlright. I wasn't sure. I guess I'll get out the trusty wire cutters and make a hole it that thar fence then.:rocket::tgun2:
