Simply lovely.

Don't know what they did to the last DX10 runtime update, but it works like a charm now.

Try the latest Runtime DX10 drivers kiwicat, did marvels for my runway flickers. I still get just a trace of taxiway marking flicker, but oh so much better.

Try the latest from March 23, 2009:

Alright, before I complain to MS, what happened?
installed the new direct X and now I get big numbers in the upper left corner. I get them on the aircraft screen and also when flying.
What's up with this????

Thanks for the heads up on the runtime drivers ! - made a big difference, runway flickers are now mostly gone, I'm also seeing an improvemt in the anti aliasing of the external self shadows. On the whole things seem to run a lot smoother.

In general it helped. But for some reason I still have the flickers. I've gone back to DX9 myself. The differences are very small after all.

Oh I use DX9 aplenty, because DX10 does not except my FS9 port overs that I am so addicted to, mainly LIC's Champs. And they look terrific in FSX when the textures are doubled in size to 2048 and converted to .DDS. Yet, even with .DDS textures, they will not work in DX10. Small trade-off to get to fly my "Charlie Brown".

Something weird has happened... I installed the latest DX10 (see above) and now the "DX10 Preview Mode" check box has disappeared from FSX! Has this happened to anyone else? I'm running an nVidia 9800 GTX+ with Vista 64-bit. Anyone got any ideas?? Have I missed something obvious??

Hey guys,
Where is the latest release for directx10? Cant seem to find anything specific to x10 on the MS website. The March release states its only directx9 version. What am I missing here?

Was this an April Fool?! You're right, that driver update was for DX9 and below.

Here's the original SOH link. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=13982

For some reason, MS always refers to it as a DX9 Runtime, but it works.

No April Fool's joke here.

Cazzie, good to hear it worked for you. I tried it out last week on my rig and the same old flickers and jaggies present. When I have more time will mess around with my settings to see if it cleans up a bit. Nice shots above!!!!
