since it appears that the official Ubi Il2 forums have changed their policy and are allowing discussion of mods on that site, i see no reason why we can't allow discussion of mods and addons here...however i encourage everyone to read the official policy here..

www.allaircraftarcade.com (http://www.allaircraftarcade.com) is the primary source for new a/c, maps, mods, etc. for the Il2 series...they also have certain guidelines to follow concerning mods so i encourage everyone to read the following threads.

SOH is not endorsing modifying the IL2 series however we feel that since Ubi itself has relaxed its policy on the subject, we should allow discussion of mods here as well.

Does anyone know if All Aircraft Arcade is a dead website? I tried registering there for D/Ls but the "registration authorization code" they provide doesn't work. I tried contacting their web tech but I'm not getting a reply.

or are you saying that code doesn't work...and make sure you enter the zeros correctly and not as capital 'o'

That's right redriver, I just used your link, that's the authorization code I used, I copied and pasted, I tried zeros, and I tried the letter O, and both times, I get this message:
The authorization code you have entered is incorrect. The location of the code should be stated on the registration page. Please try again. Weird...

i dunno...reading through some of the posts in that thread it looks like you aren't the only one having problems registering..

Also, your link to the code, it states on that page thatthe code will be changed every week. That page is dated 2007 so maybe the code was changed and never posted...it's impossible to even contact any web host there. Anyway, I appreciate you effort to help. Thanks a bunch my friend.:ernae:

What I was really looking for specifically for IL2 were sounds mods in case you or anyone else here has a link to a different source.. I love Oleg's work, but the only area where he really failed are the aircraft sounds..every fighter sounds the same, and every bomber sounds the same..they suck BIG TIME! I loved Vox's sounds for warbirds...too bad those Warbirds guys still want to charge money to play a sim that's almost 10 years old.

Hi everyone. I just tried ( and tried.... ) to register and got the same message. I was cutting and pasting the auth code. I then manually typed in the code, making sure the "OH's" are "Zero's" and it worked. I am registered in.

How do you add skins to these aircraft? I can't locate a skins folder for either one of them in the Il2 folder...:isadizzy:

You need to make a skins folder and put it with the rest of the skins folders.

Tried that, but might not have titled them correctly.. What exactly must they be named to work correctly?

They must be named the same exactly as the plane.

I've just bought the basic 'CD in a box' package and can see that I have a start of 3.0
Could some kind soul give me a steer for all the patches that I need?
Thanks.

I have tried registing at mission4today and arcade, most of the day I tried to register, either their system is not working right or they have the security wrapped so tight no one can register.

Cheers

Hi all,

I am relatively new to Il2, and I am looking for new maps. May anybody point me to sites to downloading? I get a bit lost in those forums.

Since you are new to Il2 and the mods, I would suggest you go to the UltraPak site and get their UltraPak 2.01 package.

You will need to apply this to a clean and unmodified installation of Il2: 1946 patched to the official 4.09 version. Make a back up copy of your installed Il2: 1946 before installing the mod package, just in case something goes pear shaped with the mods.

Confused, I have IL2 1946, is that the same as the Gold Pack or what?

No. IL2 1946 is the only true complete edition of the game, unlike other 'packs' released before. You need 1946 for the mods and to fly online. So all is good on your side, no worries. ;-)

Hi all
I installed Ultarpack 2.01. And now I have a few questions:
Is possilble to modify a map? I ask because I see that the Aleutians map that cames with UP2.01 is wrong. The Fort Glenn airbase is wrong situated. I must be in the east of Umnak island, and not in the west as per the map. You still can see (barely) the airbase with google earth.
How can I make new maps?
Is possible to change the loadouts of planes? some are wrong (like the Kate one).

Many thanks.
