great circle map site down

I just noticed that the source of maps for the Duenna -- the Great Circle Mapper (http://gc.kls2.com/) -- is down, so the Duenna won't be making any maps. Wonder if all this pre-race traffic brought it down.

I doubt it is from us, his whole server seems "down" (not really dead, it just responds with empty content). When I asked about last years race he kind of laughed when I asked if I should cache the content to make sure his server doesn't get too much load :-).

There's no need for you to cache it -- unless you expect an extravagent amount of traffic my server can handle the load with no problem. Other than that, go for it.

Since we are not flying 100's of legs every few seconds (even all teams together) I don't think it would make a dent on even a small server, but I'm glad to see Mr. Murphy going to visit someone else for this years race :d :d :d
