I'll put this up here, because it's a specifically Acceleration related request.

I've been asked, as some people may have read, to have a go at "improving" RNAS Culdrose in FSX. I also have a long-term intent to do something with the MCA base at Portland.

As usual when I "do an airfield up" a bit, it would be nice to have something to live there. As we're a bit short of FSX Sea Kings, is it possible that someone with rather more skill than me could do a fictional rendition of the Accel Merlin in the colours of 771 Squadron's Air Sea Rescue aircraft?

There are a number of pics of the type on airliners.net, notably

For Portland, again the repaint would have to be fictional, but the real aircraft there is/will soon be a CHC Scotia Sikorsky S-92 as seen here:

http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?airlinesearch=UK%20-%20Coast%20Guard%20(CHC%20Scotia)&distinct_entry=true (http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?airlinesearch=UK%20-%20Coast%20Guard%20%28CHC%20Scotia%29&distinct_entry=true)

Anyone interested, or should I shove off and annoy someone anywhere else? :d:running:

Cheers,

Ian P.

if you don't have any luck check in at hovercontrol. great guys there, often very helpful, even to us "plankers" :costumes:

I did search to see if there was a paint kit available somewhere for it but found nothing. There is not even a plain white variant so that you can use the 'remove white' trick to just leave the panel lines and rivets etc. on a single layer.

Without either of the above it gets very time consuming as you have to paint 'around' everything instead of just selecting an area and filling.

This MCA HC might be possible. Let me have a look at a couple models i have and check with my couter parts at other SAR VA's.

Actually there is a plain white Merlin... or at least I have one!

I think I may have found someone prepared to take on the 771Sq RN scheme (or at least the reply of "Oooh, pretty!" sounded fairly promising :icon_lol:) so we'll see.

Apparently the Portland helo is a 139, not a S-92, incidentally. We need more FSX native helos!!!
