MCDesigns here is what I want to know,

1. how are the sounds ? Good sounds with basic spool up and shut down
2. how is the flightmodel ? they implemented different flight models for each model based on load, not sure how realistic they are, but you can tell the difference.
3. exterior model quality ? It's a simple heli, but there are some small details and the added soldiers add to it as well. What is there looks good to me and they have the usual FSX features, bumps, etc. The soldiers included are very well modeled considering they had a self/sim imposed poly limit on each to help with performance in the sim.
4. system depth ? I usually start a flight with the aircraft started and have no problem using the shortcut to start, so it's not complicated from what I can see.
5. framerates ? very good on my old rig considering the models with the soldiers.
6. any bugs ? Depends on what you might consider a bug, I see nothing wrong on my end, but then again, I might not be looking for the same things you are.

Pros: It has models with pilots in the VC and no pilots in the VC for each version. The rotor animation looks great compared to the default bell funky animation.

I feel they did a good job of bringing one of their old models into FSX with some added details which was the goal.
I also look at supporting them gets us more FSX helis in the future! I believe their next project is the bell 430/222

Nemeth have done well this time with none of their usual glitches that I immediately notice to moan about - I love the civil version and the fact that you can choose not to have the crew in the vc if you wish.

Absolutely fantastic. Possibly the only other thing I'd wish for would be a way to make the guys hanging out of the doors vanish so you can "drop" them off and fly back without them attached.

Love the 500s.
Here is my scale /rc H-500e electric heli. Its right at 4 foot long and I get about 8 minutes per flight. The cockpit and pilot are from the 21st Century Littlebird heli that once was sold. I will be geting the Nemeth? but would really like a tall skid version.
Flight reports when I get some stick time.
Extra points if you can guess the car its sitting on.

You guys are good.
The 500e is a test bed and cut off the top because the flybar was really close. The fuselage is made for a gas heli and I made it fit the T-rex 600. The pollen right now is super bad so its a good time as ever to get in some sim time.

Yes it is, depends on what sort of FDE you use and which version of FSx, but start and stop is possible in Accel, couple of AS helos had it last year IRC.

Glad the package was release. Unfortunately, I couldn't test the last beta as I am going to some tough time at the moment (work wise, in-laws and moving).

Peter is eyeing the Bell 430 more as the next product, I'll need to gather more and more info and pics for this bird. He has a manual already and some images. The sounds are going to be a bit tricky to get, but I have some sources for these as well.

It most certainly is. Acceleration brought a whole new set of rules to the helicopter game. Go start your EH-101 up and see what happens.

This MD500 has startup sounds too iirc.

It's lacking a bit in the cockpit. It's not too detailed at all imo. But the general feel, flight model, sounds and price are good.

Also the textures don't seem to support reflective alpha maps.

Anyway here are a few shots of a repaint I just did, with custom spec maps to boot. I wanted it reflective but alas, nay. The real aircraft is an MD-500E so there's a bit of artistic license being used.

I'll try and put it up on various sites when I get a chance.

Hi Dan

I agree with your comments re the VC - but at least the FPS is high.

Great repaint :ernae:

It is great to see some upcoming repaints - try to do a few by myself - in the near future :gossip:.
Do you plan to upload your "modified" camo-paint, McDesigns ? Hope so - it looks nice and fit the Chopper very well. Also the "Kiwi"-Paint from Dan. :ernae:

I plan on it, still have the original work, so hopefully, it shouldn't be that hard, will have to see when I can afford it, probably this weekend. :ernae:

Here is another "Civil" - Variant. Used for "SecOps" - (Security Operations). Nothing special - change the colors a little, add some details here and there .......

Hope you like it

Greetings  Dirk

Forgot to say - the Pilots and Gunners are from Chuck Bosn`s Honolulu Police Repaint (available at hovercontrol.com)

Has anybody else noticed this thing pitches back when in flight? Even when there's no collective it will tip right back on it's tail. Is that accurate or is the FM wonky? lol
